Chapter 57 - Chapter 57: Granny’s Mysterious Teachings!

Chapter 57: Granny's Mysterious Teachings!

It can't be that broken… right? Luo Han thought, nervously.

He sharpened his senses, and—whoosh!—Tuck reappeared mid-air, 100 meters away, as if he'd teleported. There was no build-up, no signal. Then he leapt straight at Luo Han, even faster than before.

Using the boost from his jump, Tuck swung his dual arm blades, slashing rapidly toward Luo Han.

Clang! The blades struck Luo Han's psychokinetic barrier. Same result—it blocked them effortlessly. Even with the added speed, Tuck's base strength was just too low.

Still, Luo Han was obsessed with this Devil Fruit ability.

Back when he used to play League of Legends in Infinite Firepower mode, he often got one-shotted by enemy Kha'Zix players. But using Kha'Zix himself had been exhilarating.

Luo Han loved high-burst, coin-flip types of powers—the thrill of watching HP bars vanish in a flash was unbeatable.

Anyone who played knew the feeling.

As Tuck's strike failed once more, he glanced at Luo Han, who looked lost in some sort of dream again. Quietly, he began backing away.

Hmm! Sensing his retreat, Luo Han snapped out of it. Now's not the time to space out.

But trying to escape now? Not a chance. Luo Han used his psychokinesis to slam Tuck right back into place.

"Alright, spill it. What's your Devil Fruit ability?" Luo Han was genuinely curious. How could a Devil Fruit so closely resemble Kha'Zix from League?

Honestly, when Tuck had suddenly popped up 100 meters away, it had startled Luo Han. Thankfully, his own spiritual perception was freakishly strong.

"This makes no sense! Granny said I'm destined to own the New World! How can I not break free?!" Tuck mumbled, struggling uselessly in Luo Han's grip.

Granny really was something else. Even now, she remained a god-like figure in Tuck's heart. But Luo Han wasn't about to let him continue.

With a smirk, Luo Han said, "Alright, enough of your performance. Time to talk about that Devil Fruit of yours."

Tuck didn't answer—just struggled harder. His strength even increased. He'd clearly just mentally repeated Granny's teachings again.

Unreal, Luo Han thought, for the hundredth time. Granny's power was seriously disturbing.

But this wasn't the time to let him power up. Luo Han extended his right hand toward Tuck and began squeezing his palm, like he was crushing an egg.

Immediately, the pressure from the psychokinesis intensified. Crack! Crack! Tuck's armor began to split and creak.

Panic finally appeared in Tuck's eyes. Looking at the small man in front of him—and those glowing, greedy eyes—he felt like he was facing a demon.

"Uh! Wait—okay! I surrender! On behalf of the Green Cross Pirates, I surrender!" he blurted out as the pressure became unbearable.

Luo Han released the hold and looked surprised. "Wait… your crew is actually called the Green Cross Pirates?! You're the guy destined to rule the world and you named your crew that? And surrendered that fast?"

"Ah! So you've heard Granny's teachings too! She was right—I'm destined to own the world. That's why I won't die here!" Tuck replied, eyes shining.

He only heard the part about being destined to rule the world—everything else Luo Han said was ignored. He now looked at Luo Han with total trust, seeing him as a fellow disciple of Granny.

Luo Han was speechless. Are we even having the same conversation?

And honestly, he was starting to fear this Granny. The way she rewrote minds felt like something out of a genjutsu—like Kotoamatsukami or some mind-controlling jutsu. Absolutely terrifying.

Shaking it off, Luo Han studied Tuck seriously again.

"Alright then. From today on, you're my subordinate. Got it?" he said flatly.

"Yes, boss!" Tuck replied cheerfully.

Anyone who believed in Granny's teachings was a comrade in Tuck's eyes. Making one of them his boss? No problem—didn't change the fact that he was still destined to own the world.

Luo Han's mouth twitched. That was way too easy…

Fine. No point wondering what other miracles Granny had up her sleeve. Time to get back to the point: what exactly was this guy's ability?

"So, can you explain your powers now?" Luo Han asked.

"Sure, Boss!" Tuck grinned. "I ate the Zoan-type, Mythical Beast Flying Mantis Fruit. Right now, I can fly and jump with enhanced strength.

"I also recently unlocked something called Void Walk. I can enter a phantom space, kind of like a parallel world that looks just like this one—except I'm the only one in it. But I can only stay there for one second before I get kicked out.

"That's all I've got for now!"

Luo Han propped his chin on his fingers, thinking.

He's still a bit unskilled. But even one second of Void Walk could get him close enough to land a strike.

That "phantom space" sounded similar to the one created by the Door-Door Fruit's air portals.

And the ability itself is just like Kha'Zix's invisibility and speed boost! Incredible—this Devil Fruit mirrors him so closely.

Luo Han smiled.

"Alright. I understand your abilities now. From now on, you'll follow me and Cole ," Luo Han said warmly. Then he pointed toward the ship. "That huge guy over there—he's Cole ."

Tuck followed his gaze and was stunned to see someone as big and imposing as his transformed self. As expected of the boss's right-hand man—impressive! Cole must be one of us too.

Seeing no resistance from Tuck, Luo Han pointed at the enemy ship. "Now go calm your crew down. You'll be coming with us."

"No problem, boss!" Tuck replied, happily skipping back to his ship.

By now, all the crewmates Luo Han had dumped into the sea had climbed back aboard.

Tuck returned, reverted to his normal form, and—who knows what he said—but soon his men were cheering, shouting, and quickly steering the ship to follow Luo Han's.

Thud! Luo Han landed back on his ship and told Whitebeard and Golden Lion, "That pirate crew is now joining the Rocks Pirates—under my command."

Whitebeard smiled knowingly. He had already guessed Luo Han's plan when he spared Tuck. What surprised him was that while he and Golden Lion had been trying to recruit Luo Han and Cole , Luo Han had quietly started forming his own crew.

"Haha! And here we were, trying to recruit you. Looks like you beat us to it. You've already found your future crewmates," Whitebeard said with a laugh.

"Ugh…" Luo Han scratched his head. That… wasn't wrong. But this wasn't about forming a pirate crew—it was more of a… collection. They wouldn't understand the sentiment behind it.

He didn't explain. "I just liked the look of them, that's all."

Then he glanced at Golden Lion.

Golden Lion didn't seem to mind. Just another rookie fresh off the line. Might not even survive long in the New World. If Luo Han wants him around, fine.

"Whatever you want," Golden Lion replied.

"And you, Sister Shao?" Luo Han turned to her, sipping from her wine cup.

"Oh my, if he's your guy now, then of course he's one of us too. Besides, you don't need my approval, Luo Han," she said with a smirk, gently biting her lip.

Luo Han kept his voice steady. "It's just manners."

"Alright then. Since White Island's situation is settled, let's move on to the next island," Whitebeard's heavy voice called out.

Everyone on board snapped back to reality. That's right—next up was the Roger Pirates.

Everyone quickly got to work, raising the sails and preparing to set off.
