Chapter 20 - Chapter 20: The Opportunity for Physical Enhancement

Chapter 20: The Opportunity for Physical Enhancement

After playing in the sea for a while, Luo Han and Cole flew back up to Green Cliff.

It was time to test just how much Luo Han had gained that morning.

"Come on, Cole! Let's have a long-awaited fight!"

Luo Han's eyes sparkled with anticipation.

"I want to test the limits of my psychokinesis."

Cole was eager too. Ever since he'd finished his Fish Scale Fruit transformation, he hadn't sparred with Luo Han much.

"Han-ge, is your body strong enough?" Cole asked hesitantly, worried he might accidentally hurt him.

"I'm not the same as before," Luo Han said confidently. "Come at me with everything you've got. I told you—once I develop my psychokinesis, I'll shock you all."

"That moment has come!"

Seeing Luo Han's serious expression, Cole also straightened up, focused.

Thud! Cole leapt backward to create distance, then crouched slightly, charging up his strength.

"Han-ge! Here I come!" he shouted, and with explosive power, shot forward.

In an instant, he was in front of Luo Han, right arm swinging in for a punch.

But Luo Han didn't move.

In his Divine Sense, Cole's high-speed movement appeared in slow motion.

Just as Cole's fist was about to land, Luo Han extended his right hand.

A burst of invisible psychokinesis struck Cole—his entire body was hit by an immense repulsive force.

Before he could react, his momentum was halted and he was launched backward.

Crash! Slide... Cole hit the ground hard and skidded across it.

This kind of unguardable attack left no room for countering.

Cole quickly got up, staring at Luo Han in disbelief. Just this morning, that power had seemed so gentle. He never imagined it could be this strong.

He hadn't been hurt, of course—but that was thanks to his body. Anyone else wouldn't have walked away so easily.

By now, Cole's physical strength had surpassed even Uncle Kate's. All he lacked was Haki.

"How about that? Surprised? Haha!" Luo Han laughed. "Now use your strongest move—I want to try something."

"Okay, Han-ge. I'm going all out," Cole said, his gaze sharpening as his body began to change.

His arms grew large fin-like wings. His mouth widened, his teeth sharpened like a shark's. His skin turned dark with deep blue markings—it shimmered under the sun.

This was Cole's hybrid beast form, combining power and speed. It was the first time he had shown it.

Cole was serious.

A fierce aura entered Luo Han's Divine Sense. This punch would be powerful. But Luo Han was calm—his face full of confidence.

Because psychokinesis wasn't just for ranged attacks.

He focused intensely, drawing vast amounts of psychokinesis into his body. Like compressed air under immense pressure, it filled every movement with power.

Only Luo Han could do this—because psychokinesis was born from his will.

He could bind it within his body without harming himself, thanks to his strong mental control.

"Come, Cole!" Luo Han shouted excitedly at the five-meter-tall beast before him.

A faint blue glow surrounded Luo Han—so intense, even Cole felt the pressure.

"Kun Fist—Shendao!" Cole roared, releasing his coiled strength all at once and charging forward with a devastating punch.

Luo Han met it head-on with a strike empowered by compressed psychokinesis.

"Psychokinetic Armament!" he declared inwardly.

A large and a small fist collided—

BOOM! A thunderous blast rang out, sending a shockwave across the entire island.

"That sound—it came from the island summit!"

"What's going on? Did a Sea King climb ashore?"

The villagers grew uneasy.

"It's not a Sea King. It's Luo Han and Cole sparring—nothing to worry about," Uncle Kate and Uncle Witt reassured them.

But deep down, they were both amazed.

Luo Han had only just awakened psychokinesis and was already capable of close-quarters combat with Cole.

Until now, they thought Luo Han's powers were limited to flying and long-range attacks.

They never expected he could integrate psychokinesis into his body—essentially mimicking Armament Haki, coating himself in invisible armor.

A brilliant idea.

BOOM! BOOM! The island echoed with clash after clash.

The two geniuses of Ring Tree Island were fighting—bringing smiles to the villagers' faces.

The stronger the next generation, the brighter the island's future.

Luo Han and Cole fought until evening.

Thud! Thud! After one final aerial clash, both landed on the ground.

Huff… huff… After a full afternoon of combat, Cole was only slightly winded.

A monstrous physique and an overpowered Zoan-type Devil Fruit made for a terrifying combination: strength, speed, defense—all maxed.

Without the Kun-Kun Fruit, Cole's natural talent might've taken him to Vice Admiral level at best.

Which was already impressive.

But with the Kun-Kun Fruit? He might reach the level of a Yonko.

Luo Han thought deeply.

He didn't realize how shocked Cole was feeling.

Until just this morning, Luo Han couldn't even spar with him—Cole had always feared hurting him with a single punch.

And now, just hours later, Luo Han was exchanging blows with him for an entire afternoon—and even keeping up.

Of course he was winded! Even if psychokinesis didn't consume much energy, melee combat still took its toll.

If Luo Han could hear Cole's thoughts, he'd probably say—

"Cole! That was amazing. What a fight," Luo Han said, still buzzing.

After all, physical combat always awakened a man's primal instincts.

"Incredible, Han-ge! You've gotten so strong!"

"I didn't expect this either! Psychokinesis barely drains energy, and it even boosts strength, speed, and defense!"

"Hahaha!"

They shared the joy of victory.

And Luo Han noticed something else:

His body had strengthened.

Since two years ago, his body hadn't improved much outside of natural growth. But today, during combat, he felt real change.

It all started with the awakening of Divine Sense.

The evolved blend of Observation Haki and Mind Fruit allowed him to sense and record all kinds of unique energies.

In Cole, he sensed a specific aura—a signal of physical power.

All human cells have potential, but a kind of "gene lock" limits how much each person can access.

Cole's aura felt like someone who had unlocked that genetic gate.

And now, Luo Han had recorded that aura in his Divine Sense.

Using the Mind Fruit's guidance, he could direct his own body to evolve toward it.

Back when he ate the Fish Scale Fruit, the Mind Fruit had already shown it could guide physical evolution.

Now, it was as if Luo Han held the key to unlocking his next genetic threshold.

This had once been a theory. But after today's fight, he was certain.

He could evolve too.

Soon, the final missing piece—his physical strength—would be complete.

Then he'd be ready to face the vast, stormy seas of this world.

"Today was incredible, Cole! Let's go eat."

"Haha! I'm starving too!"

Luo Han looked out at the sea and sighed. Then he called for Cole to join him.

"Yeah, Han-ge! Now that you mention it, I'm even hungrier!" Cole scratched his head.

And so, the two descended the stone steps together.
