Chapter 26 - Chapter 25 The Power of Wisdom

"That's enough!" Kailar abruptly inserted himself into the murderous aura of the five, speaking with a smile.

"Kid, get lost," the silver-haired, pointed-eared Claymore said coldly.

"How about you listen to me for a moment?" Kailar smiled slightly, walking to the middle of the five and standing side-by-side with the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore.

"Although I don't know why you are fighting amongst yourselves, as a noble, I hereby sincerely extend an invitation to join me," Kailar said, acting like a true noble.

"Don't joke around, move aside, or I'll kill you too," the silver-haired, pointed-eared Claymore said, coldly brandishing her Claymore.

"No!!" Instead, the youngest Claymore suddenly blocked the silver-haired, pointed-eared Claymore's attack path: "Senior Irene! Our duty is to protect humans, we cannot kill! If Senior Irene wants to kill, I will not let her!"

"Priscilla, move aside," Irene shouted at Priscilla.

"No!" the little girl said stubbornly, pointing her Claymore at Irene.

"Well, first, let me correct your perception," Kailar laughed softly: "Why do you first place humans in a position of weakness, and then place yourselves in a position of ruler, dictator, guardian, a position of power?"

"No matter how you obtained your power," Kailar pressed his hand down: "You cannot place yourselves at the highest position."

"First, your mentality is wrong, which leads to your understanding of things being problematic: Why can't humans be killed?!" Kailar spread his arms, as if the entire town was within his grasp, and his embrace seemed capable of encompassing the entire world.

"Humans, these things, are the cheapest! War, disease, anger, sadness, joy, every single thing can cause fragile humans to die, not to mention anything else, humans are simply worthless! What is the difference between humans who haven't contributed and ordinary beasts?!" Kailar asked passionately: "Humans have value because they contribute; without contribution, humans who only plunder are just animals! Humans with contribution will always, always, strive, climb upwards, fight upwards, become knights, become merchants, become nobles, become magnates, become lords, become tycoons, become kings, become rich beyond compare! Isn't that what humans are?!"

Kailar, with a smile, pointed at the group of people who had all retreated into their homes, trembling and hiding, afraid to come out, and asked.

"If the cost of saving ten people is killing one person, then why can't that one person die?" Kailar asked the little girl, who was not much younger than him.

"If these ten people die but can save a hundred people, then why can't these ten people die?" Kailar was like an orator, pacing in circles.

"If the death of these hundred people brings about the survival of a thousand people, then what is the death of these hundred people worth mentioning?" Kailar smiled, then suddenly changed his tone: "But if someone I care about is going to die, why should I care about the lives of a thousand people I don't know?"

"A king and a farmer, one of them must die, who will it be? Of course, the farmer! Not because of power, not because of profit, nor for any other reason, isn't it obvious that the king's contribution to the entire world is greater than the farmer's! The scales of justice naturally tip," Kailar said with a smile.

"Just like if she, Irene, had to choose, between you and this blonde, wavy-haired Claymore, one of you has to die," Kailar said, pointing at the three people.

"Irene, will you choose Priscilla or the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore to die?" Kailar interrupted Irene before she could speak: "Irene would, of course, choose you, because humans are all selfish!"

"Of course, there are many other reasons that can be found: because you are young, because you have unlimited potential, because…" Kailar listed seven or eight reasons in one breath, but then shrugged: "But those are all self-deceptions, because there is only one reason, you are her friend, and she is her enemy, isn't that right?"

Kailar's smile made Priscilla very shaken.

"Priscilla, get out of the way! Attack!" Irene was experienced; seeing that Priscilla was about to lose her combat effectiveness just from a few words, how could they continue fighting?

She pushed Priscilla away with her Claymore, and on the other side, she sent Kailar flying.

Before Priscilla could return, Irene, the short-haired blonde, and the short-haired brown-haired Claymore immediately surrounded the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore, then quickly drew their Claymores.

However, although the short-haired blonde was strong, her speed was not fast enough for the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore. The short-haired brown-haired Claymore was swift, but not strong enough for the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore. And Irene's Claymore swung so fast it was invisible to the naked eye, yet the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore easily dodged it.

Without Priscilla, who could entangle the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore in a stalemate, the three's encirclement was easily dodged and countered by the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore.

In just a fleeting moment, all three were cut down and lay in pools of blood.

Holding her Claymore, she approached the bewildered Priscilla, raised her Claymore high, and was about to bring it down.

"Damn it, she discovered Priscilla's potential and is trying to nip it in the bud…" Irene's face was full of rage. She slammed her fist on the ground, her angry gaze turning towards Kailar: "It's all this idiotic kid's fault, talking nonsense and making Priscilla completely shaken. Now she can't even fight."

"Could you wait a moment?" Kailar continued to smile and intervene.

"Are you willing to join my family and become my subordinate?" Kailar asked the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore.

"No interest," the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore calmly refused. Although she was grateful to the young man for helping her, she had no intention of living under someone else's roof with her child, serving as a house slave for corrupt nobles.

"Alright then," Kailar showed no sense of failure from being rejected; instead, his smile grew wider: "Then, Miss Priscilla, I, Kailar Etolk, hereby sincerely invite you to join my family."

Kailar's initial target was not the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore.

He could see that the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore's fatal weakness lay in the brown-haired, long-haired little girl. Even if Kailar tempted the blonde, wavy-haired Claymore with a luxurious life, she probably wouldn't easily agree. But this girl, who could be swayed by words, was undoubtedly a very easy target to win over. If he was lucky enough, Kailar might even be able to bring the other three Claymores under his command.

The power of wisdom, at this moment, appeared incredibly strong.
