Chapter 21 - Chapter 20: War Begins

But this week is already over.

A crushing defeat.

But I'm not willing to accept it! Next week, I will make them pay for their blood debt!

I want them to know that things obtained through cheating are ultimately not their own! I want everyone to lend me strength! I ask everyone to lend me strength! Defeat them! Crush them! Overwhelm them! Let them know what a righteous Sword of Victory is!

This title is for me! And it's for everyone! Everyone! Lend me your strength! Let them know that wherever Our King's Sword of Victory points, it is invincible! Let them know! Their so-called fake clicks are just an empty shell! Let us use Excalibur, the Lake of Regret, and the Sword of Victory to crush them! Let them know that Our King's glory cannot be defiled by their fake things!

Everyone! Lend me your strength!!

War arrived as scheduled.

The Gauls invaded in force from upstream. Although the river mouth was blocked by Leyton's Knight Order, the losses were still very heavy. After repelling the first wave of Gaulish attacks, the Gauls reorganized their fleet and sailed downstream towards the English Channel. Not knowing whether their target was the Roman Empire or the coastal lords of Camelot, no one dared to relax their vigilance. Yet, in the middle of the English Channel, they suddenly launched a surprise attack on the river mouth, then used the monsoon to sail upstream, directly counter-attacking Ira. This small territory of Ira was no match for the entire Gaulish grand fleet. It was captured in just one day. The Gauls, who had suffered setbacks in Lesdant, celebrated wildly in Ira, turning the entire Ira into a living hell.

King Uther was furious, and three cavalry divisions advanced towards Ira. Grand Duke Andrei also dispatched a Knight Order of three hundred men towards Ira. As for more, he focused on defending his own territory, for who knew if they would launch a surprise attack?

Kayal was still smiling when he heard these messages, but his thoughts still lingered, constantly calculating the overall gains and losses:

No wonder King Uther placed Grand Duke Andrei's territory in Red Leaf Fortress. So Red Leaf Fortress was the Gauls' primary target? This explains many things. If my father was King Uther's confidant, being in such a position would not only allow him to guard the national gate but also to suppress internal rebellions with his battle-hardened troops... training soldiers was just one aspect.

Kayal stroked his chin, gaining a rough understanding of King Uther's layout.

However, one thing he didn't understand was: why would King Uther, who had no heir, painstakingly plan for things after his death? With his wisdom, he should know that without an heir, the entire kingdom would fall into a state similar to the Warring States period after his death. Why did King Uther believe that the pieces he arranged would obediently follow his command after he died?

Never mind.

Kayal shook his head, put down the parchment, and walked out the door.

Arriving at the training ground, the two were still tirelessly sparring. Compared to their first match, their progress was incredibly fast. After having a well-matched opponent, they summarized each experience and then fought again. It was clear that both of them had made significant improvements in a short period.

"Let's go, it's time to do something." Kayal called out to the two, which made them pause. For the past half month, they had been exercising and sparring, and now suddenly there was something to do, which greatly puzzled them.

"Cyber, tell my father that I'm going to Nottingham Forest to take a look. If possible, I'll sleep there, so there's no need to look for me." Kayal nodded to his butler, Cyber: "I probably won't be back for seven or eight days, so be mentally prepared." After giving Cyber a heads-up, Kayal led the two towards Nottingham Forest.

"Are you really going to Nottingham Forest, Kay?" Hearing this address, Kayal was really unaccustomed to it. He was not used to Western forms of address. If Kayal wanted to address Atoris intimately, it would have to be "Arthur" or "Art." "Art" is a shortened form of Atoris, and "Arthur" is Atoris's surname, so addressing foreigners was very troublesome, and Kayal was not very accustomed to it.

"Yes, but we're going to bypass Nottingham Forest and go to the edge of the battlefield to take a look." Kayal finally revealed his purpose. According to his calculations, at the speed of their horses, the three of them, if swift enough, should be able to catch the first battle between the three cavalry divisions and the Gauls. After sparring with the two, he felt a deep sense of his own inadequacy. To improve, he needed more sources of information, and since he didn't have an intelligence agency, he could only go to the battlefield himself.

At this moment, Kayal deeply realized the trouble of not having intelligence.

While Kayal was deep in thought, the two children were already scared stiff.

Enter Nottingham Forest?!

Don't joke around! This was something even adults didn't dare to do! Aside from anything else, Nottingham Forest was full of magical beasts, and they were all carnivorous!

Did you really think there were few herbivorous magical beasts, like Unicorns?

Looking at Kayal, both of them thought he was crazy.

But what if he was crazy? They still had to follow!

While the two were muttering uneasily, Kayal and his two companions directly entered Nottingham Forest.

To be honest, the deep dappled shadows cast by the towering trees in Nottingham Forest, combined with the thick tree trunks that squeezed the space, were really oppressive to human nerves. But for Kayal, who had lived here as a native for almost ten years, it was no problem at all. On the contrary, he found the tranquility very comfortable.

Arriving at the small wooden house, except for the two's horses which needed to be tied up, Kayal's Unicorn only needed a pat on the neck, and the little Unicorn, like a fierce tiger entering the forest, leaped and disappeared into the depths of the forest.

Just as the two were dumbfounded by Kayal's actions, they saw Kayal untie a large rope, and the hanging basket immediately dropped from the sky, hitting the green moss with a heavy thud.

Kayal jumped into the hanging basket and waved to the two.

The two had kept their mouths open since entering Nottingham Forest and hadn't closed them. Now, they couldn't even close them.

The two cautiously entered the hanging basket. Kayal then handed the ropes to them. Following Kayal's demonstration, the three pulled together, and the entire hanging basket suddenly rose, startling the two.

Under Kayal's guidance, the hanging basket slowly rose to the top. After it was secured, the three finally arrived at the treehouse. The two were immediately astonished by everything on the treehouse. On a platform like a garden, sunflowers swayed in the wind, and a large depression was used for water storage. In the middle of this large tree was a unique small wooden house, perfectly designed. At first glance, it gave one a feeling of exhilaration and an urge to live there forever.

"Merlin, come out." Kayal called out to the empty house.

Then, ripples appeared in the air, and Merlin nimbly jumped out of thin air: "How did you find me!?"

"If you weren't here, the birds would definitely be eating here. Only because you are here do the birds not dare to come down." Kayal shook his head: "Why did you make me a minor sage? You know I don't like to show off."

"Didn't you benefit?" Merlin asked in surprise.

"Aside from letting those fat lords know I'm super smart, it doesn't seem to have much benefit," Kayal retorted sarcastically.

"Eh?!" Merlin cried out in disbelief.
