"Alpha Austin, I need to see you after class," Alpha Donavan announces as Lara and I head toward our sparring session.
"Understood, sir," I respond, catching Lara's questioning glance. I have no idea what this could be about.
Alpha Donavan's presence as our instructor has transformed our sparring sessions completely. The technical holds, captures, and defensive maneuvers he teaches push us beyond anything we've experienced before. Each lesson brings new challenges that test our limits.
Today's pairing puts me against Bill, while Lara faces off with Glenda. That morning apology from Glenda still sits wrong with everyone, and I can't shake the feeling she's planning something. My attention keeps drifting toward their match, watching for any sign of dirty tactics.
But Glenda surprises me. She's actually focusing on the techniques we've learned instead of trying to hurt Lara.
