Returning to the Academy felt strangely dreamlike after the intense chaos of recent days. The familiar halls seemed almost too peaceful now.
Austin and I spent last evening discussing the possibility of merging our dormitory rooms. After everything we had been through, sleeping in separate beds felt ridiculous and unnecessary.
Today we planned to approach Alpha Irina about the arrangement. The extra room could be made available for future students or emergency housing if needed.
Since no new admissions were expected this academic year, combining our living space seemed like the logical choice.
Monday morning brought an unexpected development during breakfast. Our usual group had gathered around the table, discussing weekend events and the upcoming week when Glenda approached us.
My body tensed automatically, bracing for whatever confrontation she had planned.
Instead, she surprised me completely.
