Alan's POV
Besides nearly getting myself killed when I revealed to Rocco and Lara that the inheritance Isabella discovered is an astronomical sum, my nerves are on edge as we drive through the pack territory gates. I haven't laid eyes on Isabella since Alpha Mason's trial, not in person anyway. Through our video calls and messages, something between us has shifted, grown deeper. I know Summers has his eye on her too, but this fierce possessiveness coursing through me is completely foreign territory.
When we climb out of the vehicle, disappointment hits me like a punch to the gut. She's not here waiting. I'd been foolishly hoping she might be as desperate to see me as I am to see her. If I'm misreading these signals between us, I need to slam on the brakes immediately. I won't risk compromising the Tech Team, and if my interest isn't reciprocated, I won't make things awkward by pushing.
