The moment our car pulled up to the packhouse, I spotted Joseph standing at the entrance. He wasn't alone. Zendaya flanked him on one side while Cassian and Samantha positioned themselves on the other. The entire Murphy family had assembled, and their message was crystal clear without a single word being spoken. You have us. You don't need anyone else.
A surge of warmth flooded my chest at their silent declaration of loyalty and love. They were absolutely right. With them by my side, I lacked nothing.
Joseph descended the steps with measured precision. He acknowledged Harlan with a brief nod, but his intense stare never wavered from Andrew. Every line of his body language screamed a warning. Nobody harms his family, and Andrew had wounded me deeply.
"Alpha Joseph Murphy. Lara's father-in-law."
The emphasis wasn't lost on me. Not Austin's father. Mine.
"Alpha Joseph, I am Alpha Andrew," my uncle responded.
"So I've been told."
