Chapter 7 - Chapter 7 : Teacher Rin

Gather the right amount of chakra… focus the extracted chakra into the soles of the feet. That will generate adhesive force."

To demonstrate, Rin slipped off her shoes.

Her pale foot touched the ground...

toes delicately aligned like crescent moons, the skin of her sole tinted a soft red.

She explained where chakra should be gathered to achieve maximum efficiency with minimal consumption.

Then she put her shoes back on, raised her hands, and formed the Ram seal, right thumb atop left.

Wearing her simple shoes, she stepped onto a thick tree trunk and walked upward as if strolling on level ground.

Raizen looked up as Rin neared the top of the trunk.

She waved down at them, signaling for them to try.

"This is easy!"

Obito rushed forward, forming the same seal...something he'd practiced many times.

He refined a portion of chakra, judged the amount "close enough," and guided it to his feet.

One foot stuck.

Encouraged, he placed the second foot and began climbing.

"Glad I learned this already,"

Obito muttered inwardly.

He turned his head, eager to see Raizen struggle and embarrass himself....

but the next second, Obito slipped and fell flat on his back.

"Don't get distracted while controlling chakra,"

Rin said, shaking her head.

Groaning, Obito clutched his back as he stood.

"N-Next is Raizen, right?"

"Mm."

Raizen nodded and stepped forward.

He began his attempt.

The first try ended exactly like Obito's.

He fell after only a meter...far from the treetop.

He tried again.

Obito, gritting his teeth, also restarted his practice.

He finally understood the meaning of "regret for neglecting study."

Had he known this earlier, he would've paid more attention to chakra control lessons.

Time passed.

Two hours later....

Golden sunlight spilled through the leaves, scattering into countless shimmering beams.

Rin's expression slowly shifted to surprise.

Raizen was learning fast.

If only Raizen were practicing alone, she might not have noticed.

But with Obito beside him, the difference was glaring.

Obito had started reaching two meters.

Now, after two hours, he could only manage three and a half.

But Raizen....

He was at five meters, only a few steps away from the treetop.

A soft chime echoed in Raizen's mind.

You have awakened the Trait: [Muscle Memory (White)].

[Trait: Muscle Memory (White)]

Requirement: Repeat a complicated training routine until it becomes instinct.

Progress: Completed.

Effect: After repeating countless motions, your muscles adapt. These actions can now be executed reflexively without conscious thought.

Muscle memory increased by 10%.

Note: Cannot erase incorrect muscle memory. Can be upgraded later.

Raizen felt the chakra draining steadily from his body as he took three more steps upward and finally reached the treetop.

The forest was lush and dense.

Birds chirped rhythmically, filling the woods with lively sound.

"So, repeating any complex process works… and my talent isn't bad at all,"

Raizen thought.

Uchiha shinobi were often elites, and he carried that same bloodline.

His aptitude could never be low.

This tree was shorter than the one Team 7 climbed in the original timeline;

it didn't take much effort to reach the top.

"Raizen, have you trained like this in the Land of Lightning before?"

Rin asked softly.

"No."

Raizen hopped down from the treetop, exhaling slightly.

He still had the soul of an adult.

He could focus far better than a kid like Obito.

Which meant his chakra consumption was higher.

His muscles felt sore all over.

A soft chime echoed in his mind.

You have awakened the Trait: [Tree-Climber (White)].

[Trait: Tree-Climber (White)]

Requirement: Walk up a tree trunk with both feet until reaching the top.

Progress: Completed.

Effect: Chakra control improves on special surfaces.

Chakra consumption for tree-walking reduced by 10%.

Can be upgraded later.

Raizen paused in brief surprise.

So even this counts as a trait trigger?"

His understanding of the system deepened.

His previous traits...Muscle Memory, Reading Absorption, Basic Memory

all came from internal factors.

This one responded to an external action.

"If I graduate early… or become first in the year… will those be enough to trigger more traits? Maybe even evolutions?"

He wondered.

But now, he couldn't afford to draw attention.

Even if he could accomplish those feats, doing so would only make him stand out....

dangerous for someone in his position.

Only with enough strength could he afford to display talent safely.

"No way! You're hiding something!"

Obito shouted, eyes wide.

There was no way someone could improve so fast....

otherwise he'd be stuck as the class dunce forever.
