Chapter 91 - Run

The car rode silently along the dark stretch of road, its engine humming softly beneath the weight of the night. Silas sat in the back seat, his wrists resting loosely in his lap, his gaze fixed on the passing blur beyond the window. He hadn't expected to be leaving the pack so soon. Everything had happened too quickly for it to feel real.

He did nothing wrong.

He told himself that again, as he had done since the verdict was delivered.

He had only taken what was already his. He had only claimed his partner. That was how the world worked—how it was supposed to work. Alphas took. Omegas obeyed. Anything else was distortion, weakness disguised as law.

The car slowed, its tires crunching softly against gravel before coming to a full stop. The sudden stillness made Silas straighten slightly, his pulse ticking faster despite himself. This wasn't were they said they would stop him. This wasn't the agreed place to drop him do he could get to another pack.
