Ashelia tried the spell several times over, again and again but nothing much changed. She started to sob silently at some point as she cleaned Edward's wound and applied salves from the healer's bag to it.
After wrapping a fresh set of bandages around him, she covered him with a blanket and took a seat at her own bed to look properly out of the window.
Even though it was still so late, the trade city was bustling with activity. Merchants and their wagons passed by, and people found their way through the streets. The world continued to move, completely unaware of her frustration.
Ashelia had never been away from her father for this long, ever. Even if it was only for half a day. "He must be so worried…" She mumbled.
When she was in the manor, he would usually go on business trips to the Capital for days. But at least during those times, she was certain of it.
