Ashelia swallowed the urge to sigh. She had a feeling that was why her mother had come. "Alright, mother." She answered as she helped Seraphine to the chair by the dresser before taking her seat in front of the mirror.
For some reason, her mother loved her natural look. When she first got her pendant, Seraphine had been uncomfortable with her new appearance.
Sometimes when she was younger, Seraphine would summon her to her chambers or visit hers, just to see her without the mask.
But Ashelia didn't like seeing herself without her pendant, her appearance was so unreal and so different that she hated it.
But as far as Seraphine was concerned, she didn't like the pendant. It made her daughter hide under the cover of a mask.
Still, it wasn't like she could force her to remain without it. There were consequences to taking it off without a concealment spell.
But it was safe for her to take it off in her chamber, because it was a circle of concealment itself.
