Chapter 55 - Poseidon and His Children

In Poseidon's house, Poseidon was already preparing to leave his home. He finished his preparations quickly, determined to eat his breakfast in a hurry so he could head to the ocean to train as usual. But before he could take a single step toward the door, he felt a familiar spiritual force trying to slip into his mind.

It was Odin's spiritual power.

He did not resist at all; instead, he allowed it to enter immediately. After a few short moments, he suddenly stopped moving, as if his body had lost its balance. He quickly looked around, then pulled a nearby chair and sat down, beginning to process the information Odin had sent him in his message.

He thought deeply about what he had heard.

Yes, he was happy that his father had agreed to name his children, and his joy was even greater when he learned that one of his children possessed the potential of rulers. But… the matter of the giant child seemed somewhat strange to him.

After a brief moment, a sarcastic smile appeared on his face, and he said in a low voice:

"This matter is your responsibility, Odin… I'll leave it to you."

Then he let out a light, sly laugh, as he clearly intended to place this heavy responsibility entirely on Odin's shoulders, leaving it to him as the ruler of the island.

But after a few moments of thought, Poseidon calmed down a little, focused his mind briefly, then sent a spiritual message to his two children who possessed the potential of rulers, asking them to come to him immediately.

A few minutes after sending the message, he heard a light knock on his door.

He said in his usual tone:

"Come in, my children."

As soon as he finished speaking, his two children entered: the eldest son and the fourth daughter. They stepped inside and stood before him while he sat in his place. Poseidon looked at them and smiled faintly as he said:

"How are you, children? Has anything happened recently?"

But the eldest son looked at him with clear surprise and said:

"What's wrong with you, Father? It's not like you to speak with us at this time of day. And what's the story behind that strange message you sent us?"

As soon as the son finished speaking, Poseidon's expression changed, and he looked at him with visible anger and said:

"Can I not speak to my children whenever I wish? Or do I need to ask for permission?"

The fourth daughter looked at her father with hesitation, as if he were a stranger to her, then turned to her older brother and said in a low voice:

"What's wrong with our father today, brother? He seems strange."

Poseidon tried to maintain his calm in the face of his children's words and sarcastic tone, but his eldest son's response to his sister truly ignited his anger, as he said:

"Don't worry, little sister. It's true that our father is strange and loves living in the ocean most of the time, but he's still our father… we should respect him, even if he doesn't deserve it."

At that moment, Poseidon exploded in anger and shouted in a voice that filled the place:

"Is this how you repay me, you two brats?! After I gathered you here to tell you this matter, you little wretches?!"

Both of his children looked at him and focused carefully on what their father had said. In just one moment, their manner of speaking and behavior completely changed. They rushed toward him and began praising him without hesitation.

The younger daughter said while looking at him with feigned admiration:

"Do you see, brother? Isn't our father's hair unusually beautiful today?"

Her brother nodded in agreement and said in an exaggerated tone of praise:

"Yes, sister, it's bright like the ocean itself, and beautiful like the sky. But have you seen Father's eyes? They sparkle like jewels in the darkness, sister."

The younger sister widened her eyes in surprise and said:

"You're right, brother! Look at him… his eyes truly are beautiful like sparkling jewels, and his skin, and his teeth too…"

The two children were about to continue their praise, but Poseidon stopped them with clear sarcasm and an alert tone, saying:

"Enough praise, you two brats! I was going to tell you the news even if you hadn't done what you did, you despicable little opportunists."

The children's faces turned red for just a single second, and they quickly stepped back away from their father. But after a moment, the redness suddenly disappeared, and they looked at each other in confusion, then said in unison:

"Did we do anything despicable or opportunistic, Father? We don't remember that. You must have grown old and become… crazy, old man."

Poseidon's face flushed with anger, but he controlled himself and looked at them sharply as he said:

"You should be happy, children, for your grandfather will name you himself, you little brats."

The children looked at their father and felt the sincerity of his words. The mocking expressions vanished from their faces, replaced by wide smiles and great joy. They bombarded him with questions all at once:

"Will our grandfather really name us, Father?"

"Are we the only ones who will be named?"

"Is there anyone else?"

"What's wrong with you, Father? Speak!"

"Are we special?"

"How did you know that, Father?"

Poseidon cut them off sharply, saying:

"Be quiet, you annoying brats! Asgard chose only the two of you among my children, because you possess the potential of rulers."

When the children heard their father's words, they immediately understood why their grandfather had chosen them. They were the only ones among Poseidon's children who possessed those potentials. They rejoiced greatly and felt immense pride.

After a short while, the eldest son looked at Poseidon and said:

"Are there many other children besides us, from our cousins, who also have those potentials, Father?"

Poseidon smiled faintly and said:

"Yes, there are, my children. But what matters is that you awaken a power stronger than theirs. Do you understand? I don't want to hear Hades' ridiculous comments later. Understood?"

The eldest son looked at his father sarcastically and said:

"Do you want us to surpass Hades' eldest daughter, Father? Are you dreaming?"

His younger sister continued his words, saying:

"He must be dreaming, brother. What he's saying is laughable; he wants us to surpass that woman."

Poseidon looked at his children angrily and said:

"And what's wrong with that, you cowards? You will awaken your power just as she will. We don't yet know whether her awakened power will be stronger than yours or not. Don't be afraid before you even try, you cowardly deer."

The children looked at Poseidon angrily, and when he felt they were about to respond, he waved his hand disdainfully. Suddenly, a wave of water formed from nothing, lifted the two children with force, and threw them outside the house as he shouted:

"Go now, you troublemakers, and eat your breakfast! We have harsh training after that."

When Poseidon saw his children being carried away by his power, he sat in his place for a while, sinking into deep thought about the future that awaited him, his brothers, and their offspring… on the island of Asgard.
