Chapter 54 - Hades’ children

Hades was sitting in his home in heavy silence, his eyes closed, trying to reach his power, delve into it, and understand it. The energy he was attuned to was extremely powerful, immense and terrifying at the same time. Despite all these years having passed, he had only been able to understand a small part of it, and he had not yet reached complete understanding.

Deep inside, he felt that he might never reach that understanding at all. Every time he delved deeper and thought he was close to grasping it, he collided with the harsh truth: he was still only at the very first steps of a long and complex path. And the deeper he went into understanding his power, the more he felt a strange spiritual force trying to seep into his mind and nourish it.

However, he did not resist it at all. From the very first moment, he realized that this spiritual energy belonged to his brother. Therefore, he allowed it to enter his mind without hesitation.

As soon as that spiritual energy entered Hades' mind, it began pouring information into him, transmitting everything that had been discussed between Odin and their father. After a few brief moments following the energy's entry, Hades took some time to absorb everything that had reached him.

At first, he felt genuine joy because his father had accepted naming his children and the children of his brothers. However, this joy did not last long, as a feeling of concern seeped into him when he absorbed the rest of the information. Their father had assigned them a task that was both strange and dangerous at the same time: to make that giant child feel as if he were among his family, and to treat him as a true member of the family.

Hades understood the importance and danger of this matter, and he realized the consequences that would result from the success or failure of this plan. Nevertheless, he was not surprised by the presence of a giant child living beneath them, as Odin had informed them of this matter several years ago, so it was not shocking to him.

Hades shook his head, trying to drive away the distracting thoughts, and forced himself to think calmly. Then he said to himself:

"Step by step… first, I must inform my children about the naming, and about their grandfather's approval to name them."

When he thought about it and recalled the image of his children who possessed the potential of rulers, he frowned slightly and said to himself:

"Are there only two of them? Odin has four…"

But after a moment, he smiled faintly and added inwardly:

"Quantity is not what matters, efficiency is."

He said this while remembering his first daughter and her extraordinary talent. She had been gifted since childhood, learning at an astonishing speed. Everything he taught her, she mastered in record time. Hades felt immense pride in his young daughter, as she surpassed all the children of his brothers, even Odin's own children.

This superiority was a constant reason for him to boast in front of his brothers, as he never hesitated to highlight her great talent and her superiority over their children, which annoyed them and ignited jealousy in their hearts.

Hades' smile widened as he recalled those memories. He waved his hand calmly, and a strange black energy burst forth, spreading throughout the room, its aura seeping into the space before disappearing completely.

After a few minutes, he heard a light knock on his door. He said in a calm voice:

"Come in, my children."

As soon as he finished speaking, the door opened, and his two children appeared before him: his first daughter and his sixth son, who possessed the potential of rulers. He looked at them and said calmly:

"Sit."

Once they sat in front of him, his daughter spoke first and said:

"Is something wrong, father? Why did you call us?"

Hades smiled faintly…

And Hades said in a calm voice carrying clear dignity:

"Congratulations, children, for you have attained a great honor… You have gained the honor of being named by your grandfather, Asgard."

When the children heard this, signs of joy and happiness appeared on their faces, and delight was clearly visible in their eyes. After a brief moment of silence, the sixth son spoke in a tone filled with curiosity and intelligence:

"But father… why did you call only us? Are we the only ones who will be named? And why will our grandfather name us?"

Hades smiled upon hearing this question, as he was fully aware of his sixth son's intelligence and cunning, and he said in a majestic tone filled with great confidence:

"Yes, only you will be named, because you alone possess the potential of rulers, my children."

As soon as he finished speaking, his first daughter said in a slightly hesitant tone:

"And will the triplet children of Odin also be named, father? Do they have the same potential that my brother and I possess?"

Hades looked at her with slight surprise, then answered calmly:

"Yes, they also possess that potential, but… why this question, my daughter?"

The girl frowned for a brief moment, then quickly smiled a cold smile and said:

"Nothing, my father. I was just thinking about something. Do not concern yourself."

At that point, Hades lost interest in knowing the reason for her question. He did not like to delve into matters outside his concern, and he was not intrusive by nature. In addition, his daughter was still young, so he did not expect the matter to be of great importance.

He turned his gaze directly to the main subject and said in a serious tone:

"Listen, my children… I want you to intensify your training, because soon I will make you walk your own path, so that you may awaken your power."

Upon hearing these words, seriousness and determination appeared on the children's faces, and they said almost in unison:

"Yes, father, do not worry. We will not disappoint you, and we will live up to the responsibility of the name our grandfather will grant us."

Hades sighed when he heard their response, then said in a tone filled with wisdom and long experience:

"Do not make power and its awakening your greatest obsession. The power you will awaken will not come if you do not possess the proper mindset, my children. Do not be too harsh on yourselves in training. I only want you to train yourselves so that you can leave the mountain and explore the island without being harmed by the creatures that live there. What matters most to me is that you do not push yourselves too hard and that you maintain a sound mindset. Do you understand?"

After a brief moment of silence, his first daughter said confidently:

"I understand, father. We will not be too harsh on ourselves in training, and we will try to maintain a sound mindset."

The sixth son nodded in agreement with his sister's words, then added:

"Yes, father. We will not let this matter affect us negatively. Do not worry."

Hades smiled when he realized that his children had understood his warnings and guidance well. He waved his hand to them and said:

"Go now, it is time for breakfast. You go first, and I will join you later."

Indeed, the two children stood up and headed toward the door. As Hades watched them leave the room, he sat thinking deeply about the kind of power his children and his brothers' children might awaken. He wondered inwardly: would his brothers' children become stronger afterward, or would his own children surpass them?

Hades pondered this matter very seriously. He had already grown accustomed to boasting before his brothers about his daughter's talent, and he was not prepared for his brothers to boast about their children if they awakened powers that surpassed the powers of his own children.
