Synopsis
Steel as my scales, flames forged into my bones. The bloodlines of the Red Dragon and the Iron Dragon intertwine within me, fusing into a radiant rebirth. Flame and steel are my innate gifts—but adaptation and evolution are the true powers with which I claim eternity. The weak are burdened by hesitation. A king is bound by nothing. Whatever fails to kill me only makes me stronger. Before me, those who kneel shall live; those who stand shall die. All creation and destruction lie within my grasp—life and death bend to my will. If the entire world stands against me, then with the power of a single dragon, I will burn this world to ashes… and rule over what remains. My name is Garos. The world reveres me, fears me, and honors me as— the Eternal, Undying Dragon!

Chapter 1 - Son of Red Iron

Translator: AnubisTL

Atlantis Continent, Sierre Wilderness.

A black-feathered eagle with a crimson beak soared through the sky, its wings beating rhythmically as it passed over lush forests, crystal-clear emerald lakes, and endless wilderness. It gradually slowed its descent, finally landing on a rugged cliff face. While preening its feathers, it gazed down into the vast, circular crater below.

The area resembled a colossal impact crater, as if struck by a meteorite. The central region contained forests and rivers, while the surrounding walls were sheer, towering cliffs.

The black-feathered eagle cocked its head, its gaze puzzled. Reflected in its vision was a creature at the bottom of the crater, relentlessly slamming its flesh-and-blood body against the rocky walls with all its might.

The creature was about six meters long from head to tail, covered in scales, and adorned with horns, wings, and a long tail. It was unmistakably a young dragon, though its appearance was unusual, unlike any common species.

Its head resembled that of a red dragon, complete with the species' characteristic swept-back horns. However, the base of these horns was encased in shovel-shaped metallic bone structures, forming angular ridges that resembled a knight's helmet.

Its scales layered upon each other, with a base color of silver-shimmering black. The surface bore subtle patterns, displaying a dark red luster reminiscent of lava flowing across molten iron. The edges of the scales were as sharp as blades, and as the creature breathed, they refracted a cold, obsidian-like light. The overall impression was one of metallic hardness and rugged beauty.

Though still a young dragon, Garos already possessed a formidable power far exceeding that of ordinary beasts. His limbs, tail, and wings were all exceptionally robust.

Crash!

Garos's wings, considerably wider than those of a typical young dragon, flapped furiously as he charged headfirst into the cliff face before him. Gravel and dust flew in every direction.

Shaking his head, he pulled his head and forequarters free from the rock.

Garos shook his scales, dislodging the small stones and dust trapped between them. He then ceased his peculiar sun-basking behavior, which had puzzled the black-feathered eagle, and leaned against the large hole he had created to rest.

It's been six years since I became a dragon.

Garos mused silently, looking down at his dragon claws as they opened and closed repeatedly.

He, or rather, he was not a normal member of dragonkind.

First, he was a Red Dragon and Iron Dragon hybrid, as his peculiar appearance made clear.

Though Red-Iron Dragon hybrids were rare, they still fell within the normal range.

Red Dragons and Iron Dragons were both archetypal evil dragons, both revering power and strength.

One was the leader of the chromatic dragons, the other the leader of the submetallic dragons.

While these two types of dragons typically engage in fierce rivalry, despising each other on sight and erupting into battle upon encountering one another, it's not entirely impossible for two evil dragons, both revering strength above all else, to suddenly find themselves mutually attracted during combat. What was once a battle could transform into flirtation, and the smoldering tension could quickly ignite into an irresistible blaze.

What makes this situation truly abnormal is the human soul from another world residing within this Red-Iron Hybrid young dragon.

That's right, Garos is a transmigrator.

He couldn't be bothered to dwell on why he had transmigrated; it was pointless. Moreover, with a dragon's body far more robust than a human's, Garos had long since accepted his new reality as a dragon, feeling as if he had been reborn.

Six years of life as a dragon, influenced by the dragon heritage, had already begun to fuse his human soul with his dragon nature. They were now inseparable, forming a personality that leaned primarily towards dragon nature—a love for power and dominance—yet retained the logical intellect of a human. He possessed the dragon's resilience and strength, but none of the typical flaws like excessive arrogance, self-importance, or a pathological obsession with treasure.

In short:

He had taken the essence and discarded the dross.

Lifting his dragon claw, Garos carefully stroked the head of the mountain he had been crashing against for so long.

The fine scales on his helmet and the dragon horns atop his head felt even more solid to the touch.

"Though it's not very noticeable, my body has definitely grown a bit stronger."

The young dragon nodded in satisfaction, his tail, lined with blade-like scales, swaying back and forth and leaving dense scratches on the ground.

Over the past six years, Garos had continuously studied his dragonkind body.

Beyond the inherent supernatural abilities of dragonkind, he was surprised to discover that perhaps due to his Red Iron Hybrid heritage combined with his human soul, some unknown, wondrous reaction had occurred, granting him an innate talent beyond that of other dragons:

Adaptive Evolution.

This talent was subtle, its initial effects negligible and nearly imperceptible. Garos didn't even realize he possessed it until he was two years old.

Even now, it remained limited. It required day after day of repeated training, refinement, and adaptation to trigger a single effective evolution, and the evolutionary leaps were small, requiring corresponding meals to replenish his energy.

Over the years, this had only made Garos's physique significantly more robust and resilient than that of a normal young dragon, giving his scales their current metallic texture.

However, as Garos used his talent and aged, it continued to grow and evolve. Each year, its effects surpassed those of the previous year, and its ultimate potential remained unknown.

It was widely known that all evolutionary talents were incredibly overpowered, and Garos was filled with anticipation for his future.

With the dragonkind's long lifespan and the ever-strengthening nature of my talent as I age, combined with my Adaptive Evolution Talent, one day I will evolve to an unimaginable degree.

Garos thought happily.

He glanced at the massive mountain, then the sturdy young dragon charged forward, retreated, and crashed against it again and again, raising dust and scattering gravel.

This glorious future remained merely a fantasy for now.

As for the present... it was time to continue his mountain training.

This was one of Garos's daily training methods.

Other methods included, but were not limited to: flying to the sky and free-falling, jumping into bonfires to burn himself, letting the iron dragon maid whip him with her tail, holding his breath in deep water until he nearly suffocated, and so on.

Time slowly passed.

As the sun gradually set, it finally sank into the embrace of the distant mountains.

The night sky, now adorned with countless stars, descended. A full moon and a crescent moon hung simultaneously, casting their radiant glow and preventing the world from being plunged into complete darkness.

After his sun mountain training, Garos left the noticeably collapsed and sunken entrance.

There were countless such craters all around, each a testament to Garos's handiwork.

At the edge of the mirror-clear lake, Garos's arrival startled a flock of birds and beasts.

Unfazed, he took a long, hearty drink of water and then looked up at the twin moons.

One of the moons waxed and waned, its phase changing with the night, while the other remained a perfect, unchanging orb—a "fake moon."

This fake moon was actually an extraterrestrial magical fortress built by the Elven Empire of Nausir.

Beyond this fake moon, countless twinkling stars dotted the sky. Though they appeared no different from natural stars, they were in fact various "satellites" created by the empires through magical means.
