In the ninth video opened with jenny sitting alone in a dark crumbling house. Walls were cracked and lifeless. Dust covered every surface. She faced the camera. Her voice was low and steady.
"Two days ago, We were attacked by a group of violent men. I managed to escape. I ran for three hours before i lost them. Prof. Anton is dead and many others. The men were executed. The women were taken. In the previous two days. I'm hiding now. But I have a gun I stashed months ago. Back in my scavenging days. I knew it would become useful. Now, I'm going after them." she inhaled. "I won't stop until those women are saved."
She attached the NanoCam to her shirt, turning the footage into first person pov, and left the house, back into the ruins. She followed the tire tracks. Two hours later, they led to a villa at the center of the city.
"This must be it." She said to the audience. "My canon event." she breathed heavily, channeling her inner protagonist, "I will not rest until I get those women to safety. I can't fail them"
The villa looked clean. Recently cleaned. Jenny waited outside, waiting for any sign of patrol. The area was clear. She crossed the open space. As she walked through the gate, she heard a car growling outside. She didn't panic and quickly hid behind the large leaves of a palm, that was conveniently paced near her.
The palms' leaves were vast and dark almost black. Long spikes stuck out from the trunk, piercing her neck. She bled but she stayed still.
She kept moving slowly, hiding behind the large leaves. She swept every yard, looking for the women. Until she found them: a group of twenty-something women. Chained by the neck to thick metal pipes. [REDACTED]. Pale. Bruised. Among them, she recognized Dr. Jade and three other background characters from her group.
Jenny whispered to the audience. "They are here. I found them."
She waited. Once there was no guards in sight, she quickly moved towards them. "Dr. Jade, are you okay?"
"You shouldn't be here." Dr. Jade whispered. "Leave now. Save yourself."
"I am not leaving without you." Jenny said with pride.
Another woman, standing close to Jade, spoke. "Don't do anything, stupid. They treat us well here. Better than what's out there."
"Still, I will save you." jenny drew the pistol from her bag. "Move aside. I'll shoot the chains".
That same woman struck her hand, knocking the gun to the ground. She stepped on it and screamed, "Intruder! Intruder!"
