He opened his eyes to find himself back in the same field from before. Grey grass. Lifeless tree looming in the distance. Pitch black sky with three grey spheres.

This time, two olive trees stood out from their surrounding. vibrant with life. Their leaves emitted a soft green glow with a ring of green grass at their roots.

For a minute, he watched as the wind gently moved through the leaves. He had the time to ponder what was it he's been seeing. Is this the afterlife? A punishment for my sins? No answer came so he closed his eyes.

They opened once more, two early this time. The bathroom of his old house was still forming around him. Tile by tile. Piece by piece. Until it was finished.

He stood in the bathtub, alone, until his wife came in, naked.

Unwillingly, his mouth moved. He heard his voice. "You look nice today, My Olive." Strange, he had never called her "Olive". there was a tone of happiness in his voice, a feeling he hadn't experienced in a long time.

"Don't I look a little fat today?" she asked him.

"I'm not falling for this again. You're perfect."

She slipped into the bathtub and wrapping her arms around him. "I am pregnant."

A smile showed on Kazimir's lips, a brief spark of happiness. Then, in an instant, the bathroom, his wife, everything around him faded to black. He closed his eyes, surrendering to the void once more.

Eyes open. The grey field again. There, stood the same two olive trees, still vibrant and alive. However, this time, a smaller tree had emerged, sprouting from between the two. In that moment, he realized – it was a metaphor even the dumbest of people would get. His eyes closed once more.

Open. The bathtub again, with his wife, still between his arms. "Why aren't you smiling?" She asked.

He tried to answer her, but nothing came.

The light from the ceiling lamp shifted to grey. Shadows caST over the white tiles. His wife's skin began to darken. Eyes and teeth turned black, followed by her hair.

Gradually, her body started to dissolve, turning into ashes. In his hands, remained only small dried fetus.

Kazimir remained unaffected. He had seen worse. And part of him already knew it wasn't real. Then, he watched as everything around him broke apart turning into blackness once again, and he let his eyes shut.

8

He opened them. Back in the grey field. One olive trees had turned dark and lifeless. The young one withered with it, leaving only one standing, him. then, he closed his eyes once more.
