When he opened his eyes, he was back in the bedroom of his house. It was clean and tidy. Without death. Entering the room was his wife, Ilona, dragging a heavy suitcase. She didn't seem to notice him, he was only a spectator.

Her phone rang. She answered. he heard his own voice come through: "Lona, the group has left"

"I'm still at the house," she answered. "I'm almost finished, I'll catch up."

"There's no time!" he yelled at her. "They will close the gate."

"I'm almost finished," Ilona insisted. "I'll be there in no time." She threw the phone on the bed and returned to the wardrobe to continue packing her stuff.

Then, Kazimir, the observer(sound like a magical entity), heard a metallic screech. Before the echoes faded, a fragment made it to the room. Ilona froze in terror then instinctively reached for the gun under the pillow. She turned back but never fired. The fragment's eyes had already locked onto hers. The bridge of light was established and the devouring began.

Two minutes passed. The bridge connecting their eyes vanished. Then, Kazimir saw her astral form, exiting her body through her eyes. It twisted and deformed in the air, before entering the fragment's eyes. Without a soul, her body collapsed to the floor.

The cloak of the fragment expanded. It doubled in size, reaching the ground before it melted away. The fragment's true form emerged. Gorilla-like, but much larger in size. The skin was a dull gray, and its face remained a black skull mask. Arms with three metal-encased joints and four fingers ending in razor-sharp metallic claws. Legs like giant chicken with four toes like a dinosaur.

It lifted Ilona's body with both hands then crushed her rib cage until she split apart into two uneven halves. It then proceeded to break each piece into smaller chunks(fragments) that spattered the walls, all while Kazimir, the observer, watched.

Kazimir tried to look away, but he wasn't able to. He was forced to witness every detail. He felt horror, grief yet, there was cruel satisfaction as he finally knew how it happened.

From the fragment's eyes another astral form exited and ascended through the ceiling. Then it's body dissolved leaving only a black rock on the ground.

He heard hurried footsteps. Someone was running to the room. A younger version of himself entered. This was six months ago, yet he looked a decade younger. His face looked warmer. His eyes were wider. More youthful and expressive.

Young kazimir saw the scene for the first time. he froze in shock. It was beyond anything Young Kazimir could have imagined. His eyes widened in disbelief and denial. His pupils stretched wide. An easy prey. The rock on the floor split and another fragment emerged. Within seconds a bridge was made between their eyes.

Less than 30 seconds later, Alfred stormed into the house and pulled the young Kazimir away. As the bridge was forcibly torn, Young Kazimir's eyes turned dull. A part of him had been irreversibly altered. Alfred managed to save him but not all of him.

The fragment ignored alfred and turned to older Kazimir, staring at him with its glowing eye. The light grew brighter until he couldn't bear and closed his eyes.

He opened his eyes. This time found himself still in the room, exactly as he last saw it. Dusty. Bloody. Dried Guts on the walls. Now, he was in control. No fragments in sight. Just his pistol on the bed.

He reached for it and put it in his mouth, aiming towards his brain, and pulled the trigger once more. It all went dark, but he was aware still.

Then, light returned. A stark white room formed around him with six lights embedded in the ceiling. He sat in a chair at its center, facing a pitch black door.

He no longer controlled his body. He rose, walked towards the door and pushed it open. Beyond, lay a dark room, lit by a single yellow lamp hanging from the ceiling. Beneath it rested an old chair built from bones.

Kazimir's body moved towards the light and sat him on the bone chair. The lamp flickered and died off, leaving him in darkness once again.
