The announcement replayed every 2 hours.
At the end of day 199, Listening to the announcement in his room, was a man. That man's name was kazimir. If you don't remember him, he's the guy that woke up in the first scene.
He was preparing for the mission. From one of the boxes in the corner, he pulled out a worn backpack. The faded memories of past trips with his wife clung to its fabric.
He began to fill it with essentials: a change of clothes, the pearl Royale chess set his wife had given him, and the two shelter invitation that he and his wife got months ago. He opened another box, holding tens of grenades. He put five of those and in his backpack.
Sitting on the edge of his bed, he picked up the framed photo resting on the nightstand. It captured a moment frozen in happiness, featuring him, Alfred, and ilona (his dead wife), their smiles were eternally preserved.
For a moment, he felt some emotions that were long lost come back to him. Maybe the therapy had worked, or maybe the promise of resolving his suffering stirred something new. Whatever it was, it felt like a step forward.
He slipped the picture into the backpack. Setting his backpack to the floor, he fell back to the bed, with the weight of anticipation bearing down on him as the countdown to departure kicked on.
