Theodore Tom, CEO of TheodoreTech, sat confidently at the head of the polished table in a sleek Jersey City boardroom, his sharp suit and calm demeanor commanding attention. Investors from New York to Silicon Valley eyed him keenly as he pitched the company's latest innovations.
"With this expansion, we'll corner the market on the East Coast's growing tech hub," he said, projecting authority.
One investor raised an eyebrow. "And the risks?" Tom smiled smoothly. "We've mitigated them. TheodoreTech's poised for takeoff."
The room filled with nods and murmurs of approval. The investor from Goldman Sachs leaned forward. "Valuation's key here, Mr Theodore. What's the ask?"
Tom's expression turned calculated. "We're looking for a $200 million investment for 15% equity."
The room digested the numbers. A murmuration of interest rippled through.
The lead investor nodded. "We'll need to crunch some numbers."
The meeting shifted to details. Tom leaned back, confident he'd nailed it.
The discussion turned to exit strategies and growth projections. Tom fielded questions with ease, his answers impressing the investors.
Finally, the lead investor stood. "We'll have our proposal by the end of the week, Mr Theodore."
Tom smiled, shaking hands. "Looking forward to it."
The meeting adjourned. Tom loosened his tie, a sense of victory settling in.
He checked his phone – a missed call from his mother. He sighed, dialing back.
"Hey, Mom..."
His mother's voice came through warmly. "Tommy, when are you coming home for dinner?"
Tom frowned helplessly.
"Mom, I got a meeting with investors today. Might be late."
His mother sounded understanding. "Okay dear, but don't forget your sister's recital tomorrow."
Tom smiled slightly. "Got it, Mom."
They chatted briefly about family before hanging up.
Tom refocused on the deal, a mental checklist forming.
Before closing, he decided to call the woman who had been disturbing his thoughts since their first encounter, CEO of Elwave digital.
He couldn't even find out her real name even with he fact that he owned a tech company.
Something about her intrigued him, maybe it was the fact that she was very misterious, or good in combat, maybe it was because she was just so very smart, he could tell just from their first meeting.
Still considering how to approach the stubborn CEO, he received a call from an unknown number, thinking it could be important, he answered the call immediately.
Tom frowned when he heard an irritating and familiar voice on the phone. How come Linda had his number? He frowned, of course it must've been his mother.
"What do you want?" He asked coldly.
The woman at the other end giggled childishly. "Come on Tommy, no need to be so stern, you need to loosen up okay, you don't want to look older than your actual age."
She giggled again. Tom's anger nearly exploded when he understood that she was making fun of him.
"Please, miss go straight to the point!" He gritted his teeth angrily. The only reason he had not hung up on her was because he wasn't in the mood for another call from his mother.
"Nothing much... I ..just wanted to... check up on you!" She sounded serious for the first time since he picked up hef call.
"As you've heard my voice, I'm sure you don't have to worry any more, because am absolutely okay!" He massaged his temple.
"Okay... You're always so uptight, okay, another reason why i call was to ask if your company is in need of a y data analyst, I so happens to be free ". Tom sneered. How crazy could he be to employ her!
" I'm so sorry, but at the moment, I think we're are good, there is no shortage of staff, thank you for considering to apply, I'm truly flattered. He didn't see the need GB hide the sarcasm in his words.
"Okay... the pleasure is all mine, I'll talk to you later.. okay ....my big tommy".She quickly hung up on him.
Tom inhaled deeply.
