Ruby slumped down helplessly on her couch. A week has passed and Uncle Gary was still been stubborn. She had sent countless warnings in letters and messages to him, but it seems like the more he recieved the warnings, the more it activates him. Now she didn't know what to do again. Actually she knew, she could go to him personally and talk to him, that way it would be easier. Uncle Gary would definitely listen to her but that option was strictly for last minutes. As she was sulking in couch and munching on a bag of chips, she had a call. She felt fatigue all over her body to the extent that, the mere act of lifting her phone felt like an arduous task. In the end, she successfully answered the phone call and the person on the other end said cheerfully
" Hey Ruby, are you free on tomorrow "
Ruby couldn't find the right words to speak. Finally she asked in exhaustion
" Uh why "
The person answered
" I got a work scheduled on tomorrow and I really need your help. It is in the afternoon. Actually, I would have gone myself but my mother has been admitted to the hospital this morning. I need to go and take care of her but you know this manager of ours, he said it is either I get someone to fill in for me or never return to the company. Could you please fill in for me Ruby. You are the only capable person I can think of. And mind you, the pay is generous "
Ruby's exhaustion suddenly disappeared as she answered with extreme vigor in her tone.
" I'm on it "
The person said with gratitude
" Thank you so much Ruby, I owe you this, I would send you the location and time, this is our biggest client. Impression count "
Ruby smiled and said
" Trust me "
" Ok bye "
" Bye, take care "
This was what she needed. Something to temporarily erase her memories. She didn't care about the money, no, she had enough.
But before, she needed to visit uncle Gary again. She stood up and changed into a blue black denim pants and a pink T-shirt with a black cap on. She wasn't on any assassin mission so there was no need to go through the long process of make up. She looked at herself in the mirror and in other to cheer herself up like she usually do when she is feeling down, she pinch her own cheeks playfully and say
" Awww who is the most stunning angel in the world "
Then she looked around the room as if she was looking for someone prettier. Finding no one she turned to the mirror again and said
" Trisha the disfigured assassin..... no is Ruby. Trisha is disfigured. Ruby is stunning, Trisha is jealous of her"
Then she laughed at her own silliness and went out. Shaking her head and thinking
" Probably I'm out of my mind "

Ruby hid behind a tree carefully observing her environment making sure she wasnt within the security camera's reach. Uncle Gary has parked his car in the parking lot and was talking to some colleagues in front of the police station. A homeless child was passing by and Ruby quickly called him. She handed him an envelope to give to Gary and gave the poor boy some money. The child quickly agreed as he hasn't hold such amount in ages and in haste he went and gave it to the said person. He was more familiar with this so when Gary asked him who sent him he only said he didn't know the person and went. After making sure Gary had opened the envelope and read the contents on the paper, Ruby finally left with hope that Gary would stop what he was doing.

Lucas asked seriously. His secretary Mathew answered
" Yes sir, everything is prepared in there. All that is needed now is you "
Lucas nodded. After so many days he had now gotten a proper forensic artist. He couldn't wait anymore to find who that mysterious lady is. They entered the room and Lucas saw a feminine figure. He was a bit stunned and turned to his secretary
" I thought you said it was..... "
Before he could finish, the lady who seemed to have noticed people in the room turned and said amicably
" Hello I'm..... "
Before she could also finish, thier eyes met and all that she was about to say died right down in her throat. They both stared at each other and murmured simultaneously in surprise
" it's you "

Lucas quickly snapped out of his daze and asked his secretary
" Is she the forensic artist "
Mathew nodded slightly not understanding what was going on. Ruby also asked in shock
" Is he the one I'm working for "
Mathew nodded again but this time in bewilderment. Lucas threw his head back and laughed for less than 2 minutes. Then he said in amusement
" Interesting, let's begin the section my dear forensic artist "
Lucas kept on grinning like an idiot. Lady luck was shining on him today.
As he sat down, he saw Ruby frantically pulling out her phone and making a call. She sounded really pissed. Oh damn, why wouldn't she, she had tried to cut all ties with this man and now here she was working for him. As soon as the call was answered , she lost her patience and almost yelled
" Vivian, why didn't you tell me the clients name "
Vivian answered coolly
" Well, you never asked, hold on is there a problem "
Ruby answered sarcastically
" Sure, there is.I am not working for this man"
Vivian pleaded almost on the verge of breaking down
" Oh Ruby please don't do that, please just for once help me. I beg you "
Hearing her pleading voice. Ruby didn't know how her anger dissipated but she softened and said with a sigh
" All right now , please don't cry on the phone"
Vivian chuckled and thanked her before ending the call. After putting the phone in her purse , Ruby took in a deep breath and forced out the sweetest smile she could form at the moment. But holy shit the smile was horrible. She said in a sarcastic but sweet tone.
" Where were we sir "
Lucas returned smile and said to his secretary
" You can leave "
Mathew nodded and went. Once he was hone Lucas said
" First of all, let's get one thing straight. Is that the only smile you can form? If that is then I hope you don't smile at all throughout the section. I don't want to be constantly reminded of a nightmare I had "
Ruby worsened the smile and said
" Then you better prepare because this is the only smile I have and I always smile during work "
Lucas founded her cute at that moment and before he realized it, it slipped from his mouth

Ruby's cheeks flushed red at the comment and memories from that night came again. She forced herself to dispel all the thoughts and pretended she didn't hear. She switched to professional mode and asked
