It was late in the night. Ruby sat on her black motorcycle and drove across the street. The wind kept hitting her face making her hair flow. Initially, she was going home, but then she changed her mind and thought of disturbing uncle Gary in the middle of the night. But then, strangely, as she got nearer to the house, she felt an ominous hunch and frowned.
True to her guts, the moment she reached the house, everything felt odd. Her primitive instinct was to take out her PSA saber 11 just in case. She savoured her environment and walked cautiously into the house trying not to make any noise. The moment she reached the front door her keen senes were able to trace the faint smell of a blood. She felt scared all of a sudden of what might await her in the room. She quickly took out her phone and sent a message to Jasper just in case. Then before her brain could process what she was doing, she got to the living room and she froze for a second before rushing to the scene in front of her. Her uncle was in a pool of blood but luckily he wasn't dead yet. She rushed to him and knelt beside him. She was about to go for some first aid and apply it, when she sensed somrthing. Of course she thought, the assassin was still around. She quickly turned and swang her legs, hitting the assassin before he could attack her. The assassin was caught off guard and fell down. Just as he was about to attack again, Ruby quickly hit him in the stomach and she didn't stop there. She gave him countless attack taking down her frustrations and anger on him. Once she was sure the man was on the verge of death but not dying, she left him on the ground and went to her uncle's side. But it was too late, Gary was violently coughing blood. She became scared for the first time in ages.
She reached out to him, trying all first aid she knew but Gary weakly shoke his head and said
" Don't... child... is late for .... me... cough ... cough..."
Tears streamed down Ruby's face as she said desperately
" no way Uncle, there got to be something. Don't worry help is on the way just hung on a bit..... please uncle don't leave me."
Gary coughed more violently and with great difficulty, he managed to say
" safe..... clo... set....4..3..... "
He couldn't finish what he wanted to say and took his last breath. Ruby screamed like a lunatic. She couldn't believe it, Gary was dead. He died in her arm's how could this be. She hugged his body, weeping terribly. Then she recalled something and stood up. True to her thoughts, The assassin was on the verge of excaping. He couldn't walk properly so he limped. Ruby rushed to him and knocked him down. She vented all her anger towards the man. Punching him and slapping him. She felt that wasn't enough for taking Gary's life. Then she paused and asked
" Who instigated you "
The man answered with a shiver
" No one "
Ruby flashed out a devillish smile. Her already teary eyes plus the smile made her look more scary. She said
" You seriously don't want to be on my bad when I'm on the verge of loosing it "
The man shivered in fear but still kept his ground saying
" No one instigated me. I killed him because he was poking his nose into my affair "
Ruby punched him in the face with disgust and said
" That ain't the answer I'm looking for "
She knew clearly when someone was telling lies and this man was definitely lying. Ruby became more furious and begun venting her anger on him again. Just as she was so engrossed in beating him, the the opened and a figure entered. Ruby didn't bother to check who it was, she already knew the person. She beat the man to the point that the man couldn't hold back and blurted out
" Is Don,..... Don sent me please leave me now "
At this point Ruby paused for a moment then took out her gun and shot him straight in the head saying
" Wrong answer "
After shooting him, she stood there helplessly staring at Gary's body with teary eyes. Then she heard a familiar voice
" Ruby.... I'm sorry I came late "
Ruby shot him a glare and went to him in anger.
" Of all times Jasper, why do you have to be late today... why "
Jasper couldn't utter a word and just lowered his head. He knew very well how Gary mattered to Ruby and he felt ashamed of himself for been late. He had never seen Ruby cry before and seeing it for the first time made him unsure of what to do.
He stared silently as Ruby cried over the dead body. Then he secretly called the police. Right after he was done, his eyes met Ruby's dangerous gaze. With a murderous aura, Ruby asked
" What did you just do "
Jasper sighed helplessly and said
" we need to go "
" You better call them and tell them something better "
Jasper answered
" He's already gone. Let the police deal with the rest I promise you we would find the mastermind. We..... "
Ruby harshly interjected
" If you know what the hell is good for you, then you better shut up. Now help me send his body, he needs a proper burial "
Even though Ruby was been harsh, Jasper wasn't affected the least, he knew Ruby had a temper. He tried reasoning with her
" Don't be selfish Ruby, you are not the only one who cares about him. He has a family... "
Ruby yelled
" He has no family!"
But Jasper just continued as if he hadn't heard her
" He has friends, do you know his relatives. No, there are probably some people out there he wants to meet before he is buried you can't take that away from him. "
Upon hearing the explanation, Ruby became quite, she slowly went to her uncle's body and hugged him for the last time before getting out of the house. Jasper sighed and cleaned our traces of thier presence in the house.
Just when he was done and was about to go, he saw Ruby enter the house again. He thought Ruby has changed her mind amd was thinking of how to knock some sense into her head when Ruby went to a room. He waited for her and saw Ruby coming out with a silver safe. He asked no questions although he was curious and simply followed her.
