Lisa's face was pale as she turned to face her husband and her daughter.
"Did you...did you hear what she said?" she asked, her voice coming out softly.
Adrian and his daughter exchanged a glance. Of course they had heard every single word exchanged between Lisa and Lara, but neither of them said anything.
"I asked if you guys heard what she said!" Lisa snapped, and her chest heaved with anger.
Laura stepped forward, and there was a placating smile on her face as she responded to her mother.
"Yes, mum. We did. But I'm sure she's just... exaggerating."
Laura was lying.
She knew her brother's wife had not been exaggerating. Lara was right. If Curtis woke up and found out what his mother was currently doing, all hell would be let loose.
And Lisa also knew that Lara wasn't lying.
Which was why Curtis's mother was raving mad.
Lisa let out a humourless laugh at her daughter's words. She turned rage filled eyes to stare at Laura and her husband.
