Chapter 94 - Chapter 94 Negotiable

A sudden silence fell over the entrance. The guests exchanged bewildered glances as they looked at Amy, who was holding a kitten, clenching her little fists in front of her face, squinting her eyes, pouting her little lips, and trying her best to look fierce. The words they had prepared were swallowed back down.

"I'm outta here... Even when she's fierce, she's so cute." Sargeras glanced at Amy, turned and slowly walked away. It seemed he could only buy some grilled meat to eat on the way, then take on a high level quest, hoping to be able to eat ten Rou Jia Mo in one meal as soon as possible.

"Pfft—so cute!" A girl nearby couldn't help but laugh.

Many guests had witnessed Amy's fireball spell that made the lava demon scream the day before, and later, another fireball spell that burned off the beard of the honored mage. And the mage, far from being angry, even wanted to take her as his apprentice.

So hearing Amy say that was quite intimidating. After all, this little one dared to burn even demons, and they didn't have the same resistance as the demon. Didn't they see that the demon secretly slipped away after hearing those words? So after hesitating for a moment, they all dispersed.

"Boss Mai is a man of his word, but sending his daughter to solve the problem is too ruthless. I'm clearly unhappy, but I can't get angry. It's so frustrating!" A customer sighed, then couldn't help but laugh again.

"Yes, I even made a special trip of over twenty minutes to get here today. But it's not easy for Boss Mai to run a restaurant alone. He dotes on his daughter so much, it's normal for him to want to spend some time with her." the person next to him chimed in.

The remaining bystanders, unaware of the situation, looked at Amy, who wasn't going to reason with them, and then at the customers who left without hesitation. After a moment's hesitation, they all left as well.

"She's quite the little helper." Mai Ge, who came out with a glass of water, couldn't help but laugh when he saw this scene. He had been thinking about how to explain to the guests in a way that wouldn't upset them, and he figured he would have to argue with them for a while. But he didn't expect Amy to just open the door and threaten them, and all the guests left, which saved him a lot of trouble.

"Daddy, I made them go home obediently. When I'm super fierce, they really are afraid of me." Amy turned around and saw the cute smile return to Mai Ge's face, her big eyes full of 'Praise me!'

"Yes, Little Amy's the best! You helped Daddy a lot." Mai Ge nodded with a smile, though the little one's "super fierce" act was purely cheating with cuteness. All he can say is that the guests were also very adorable.

"Yes, yes, Amy will help Daddy with many more things in the future." Amy nodded her little head, took the water glass, drank a couple of sips, then looked down at the Ugly Duckling in her arms, a little hesitant. "But Daddy, should we take the Ugly Duckling to see Teacher Luna? I'm afraid it's too ugly and will scare Teacher Luna. May be we should just leave it at home."

"Meow meow!" Hearing that it would be left at home, the Ugly Duckling immediately panicked, looking up at Amy and meowing, its eyes full of pleading and resentment.

"The Ugly Duckling hasn't eaten yet, so we still need to take it out later. We'll buy it some goat milk on the way." Mai Ge shook his head. Besides, Miss Luna should like it.

After all, the Ugly Duckling, only slightly larger than an adult's hand, was actually a very cute little orange tabby cat. It was just that Amy had a preconceived notion and probably saw it as ugly no matter how she looked at it. However, after spending these past few days with it, she had treated it quite well.

"Okay, then when you see Teacher Luna later, you must cover your face yourself, okay? Don't scare her, and don't scare the other children either." Amy nodded, giving the Ugly Duckling a serious warning.

The Ugly Duckling didn't seem to understand, it just kept nodding, pretending to understand.

After breakfast, Mai Ge took out the little basket the herb gatherer had given them, put the baby bottle inside, and placed a soft towel in the middle. If Amy got tired of carrying it, she could put the Ugly Duckling in the basket. If he bought anything on the way, he could put it in the basket and carry it. And that's how they went out.

Mai Ge wore a black and gray long robe today, a common everyday garment in this world, somewhat similar to Hanfu, but without as many layers, and with a cleaner, simpler cut. After all, in this other world, danger could strike at any moment, and simple, comfortable clothing was suitable for fighting and escaping.

The outfit Mai Ge is wearing is a modified version of the system's design, and it's custom made, so it fits perfectly. The pure cotton fabric is much more skin friendly and comfortable than the cotton and linen fabrics of this world, and it makes him look quite smart. The black and gray color makes him look more composed and mature, but the small basket he's carrying makes him look somewhat comical.

Passing the magic potion shop, Amy, as usual, exchanged a few words with Black Charcoal and Green Bean.

The Ugly Duckling was a little hostile towards the talkative Black Charcoal, but now that it couldn't even jump up to Amy's knees, let alone Black Charcoal hanging at about a person's height, he could only squawk defiantly in Amy's arms.

Mai Ge smiled and nodded to Yulian, then led Amy away, continuing on their way.

"Daddy, shall we go to the academy now?" Amy looked up at Mai Ge and asked.

"We'll go somewhere to take care of some things first, and then we'll go to the academy." Mai Ge smiled and shook his head. Besides planning to go to the agency to find employees, there was another place he wanted to go.

"Okay, sure." Amy nodded. Although she really wanted to sing for Teacher Luna right now, she had to listen to her daddy if he had things to do.

In this world, talent agencies are generally called job placement agencies. They gradually emerged after the Chaos City prospered. Their business has expanded from simply recruiting suitable employees and members for workshops and adventurer guilds to various fields, with even nanny recruitment being just one branch.

Mai Ge led Amy to a shop called "Guang Luo Job Agency". It was a small shop of about twenty square meters, with two rectangular wooden boards at the entrance displaying several pieces of paper in neat handwriting listing job openings, the number of positions needed, and brief descriptions of salary, though most stated "negotiable."

Mai Ge glanced at the information. Besides regular workshop job postings, there were also advertisements for adventure teams planning missions and needing members with specific skills, the kind of information that would normally be posted in the guild section, but was now there too.

There was a separate area for hiring waiters and nannies. At a glance, the basic benefits for waiters included three meals a day, with an average salary of 3000 copper coins. Working hours were generally from morning till night—a prime example of low pay and long hours.

But that wasn't all. Mai Ge's expression suddenly became quite interesting after seeing the information in a small section in the lower right corner.

"Hiring a succubus or elf girlfriend, starting at 5 gold coins per day, specific price negotiable based on appearance and skills."

"Hiring a demon henchman, requirements: frightening appearance, able to withstand the magic of a level 3 mage head on, and most importantly, frightening appearance! The frighter the appearance, the higher the salary!"

"Hiring one handsome young man of either Elf or Human race. Requirements: good looking, good at charming people, starting salary of 10 gold coins per day, negotiable!"
