The doctor watched Alexander's expression changed several times and he sighed.
"I just thought to inform you about it. If there's nothing else, I'll be leaving."
Alexander nodded, and the doctor walked out.
After the doctor had left, Alexander leaned back into his chair as he recalled the moments between he and Serena.
Suddenly, he slammed his palms on the table, making a loud noise which rippled across the silent office. Taking a deep breath, he rose to his feet and walked out.
He was then approached by Maya whose eyes flickered with confusion and fear.
"Mr. Blackwood, they wheeled her out. Do you have any idea what is going on?" She asked, uncertainty coated in her tone.
Alexander's teeth caught his bottom lips as his eyes remained on the two ladies whose gaze was fixated deeply on him. How was he going to explain that Serena needed surgery?
He swallowed, caught between telling the truth and keeping a secret.
