Alexander's POV
I knew I shouldn't have threatened her, but I genuinely had no other option. There was no way I could make her agree. She seemed hell-bent on rejecting the promotion.
When I saw the fear flash through her eyes, my hands had clenched into fists and only one thought flashed through my mind: I was a villain.
My phone buzzed, snapping me out of my thoughts. I picked it, and saw that it was a message from my mother..
[Family dinner. 7pm. Don't you dare miss it.]
I read the message over and over again, and I tugged at my tie. I hadn't been in contact with my mom ever since the ruckus she caused at the company. I knew she was forcing me back home through this dinner.
Suddenly, a thought flashed through my mind.
My eyes flicked over to Serena who was arranging her workspace, and I suddenly had an idea.
I picked up the intercom, and instructed; "my office. Now!"
