'She isn't angry with me.'
The realization made Gideon's heart race. A smile formed on his lips before he could stop it.
"Come stay at my penthouse," he said suddenly.
He had been holding those words back, afraid she would reject him outright. But seeing her in a lighter mood gave him the courage to try.
"I'll bring Noel there too," he added quickly. "He'll be thrilled to have you around."
Summer went still.
Moving into his penthouse meant stepping back into the life she had struggled so hard to leave behind. It meant reopening wounds she had barely managed to close.
"No," she said firmly. "I won't move in with you. I'll find my own place. You don't need to worry about me."
"Don't push me away like this, Summer." He reached for her hands immediately. "I've waited years to find you again. Now that I finally have, I won't let you disappear. I want you back. Please… give me another chance. Let me make things right."
