"No…" Gideon refused to accept her words. His eyes glistened, tears barely held back. "Please don't do this. I need you, Summer. I'm begging you."
He cupped her face in both hands.
A bitter smile touched her lips. "I begged you once, too. You didn't hear me then."
Her resolve left him speechless for a moment. Still, giving up wasn't an option. He had already lost her once. He wouldn't lose her again without fighting.
"You agreed to study jewelry design under Miranda. That means you'll be here for months," he said carefully. "Stay with me during that time. If, after it is over, you still believe we can't fix this, I won't stop you. I swear I'll let you go. I'll never disturb you again. Just give me this chance to set things right. Please."
It was his final plea.
Summer fell silent. She had to stay for the training anyway. When it ended, she would take her son and leave without turning back.
