Adrian went quiet, her words forcing their way into his mind no matter how much he resisted. It was true.
He had believed every word Summer had said. He had never once tried to confirm it.
A hint of doubt coiled in his chest. But he crushed it ruthlessly.
'Why should I?' his inner voice snapped defensively.
He had seen Summer care for Noel. The boy recoiled when Danica approached and clung to Summer like she was the only one who could protect him.
"Yes," Adrian said at last, his voice turning cold. "I trust her. She is my fiancée. I have no reason not to."
His jaw locked so tightly a muscle ticked near his temple. "I saw how much Noel was scared of you. When he was asked who he wanted to stay with, he chose his father, not you."
