Meanwhile, Adrian was still searching for Gideon. Almost absentmindedly, he moved from one room to another, checking if he could spot him.
The first room he entered was the study. It was empty.
Then he headed toward the next room. It was Georgea's room.
"Adrian?" Georgea set her coffee cup down as soon as she saw him and rose to her feet. Walking toward him, she said, "You could have called me if you needed anything."
"I was just looking around," he replied, trying to sound casual. "Seeing if something here triggers my memory. By the way… where is Gideon? I was searching for him."
"Isn't he in his room?" Georgea asked, surprised.
"I checked," Adrian said. "I wanted to speak with him, but he wasn't there."
At once, Georgea recalled the moment she had seen Summer walk into Gideon's room the previous night. A suspicion had already formed in her mind that the two of them might have spent the night together.
Rage flared within her.
