"Wedding?" Gideon's reaction was immediate and unfiltered. The word struck him like a blow. "Why the rush? You've only just come back. You should concentrate on recovering first. The wedding can wait."
Adrian replied firmly, "I've waited long enough."
Gideon's breathing grew heavier. It felt as though control was slipping through his fingers. In the current circumstances, their mother would likely support Adrian's decision without hesitation. But the thought of Summer becoming someone else's wife was unbearable.
"No… you can't," the words escaped him before he could restrain himself.
Adrian's eyes narrowed. Suspicion began to take root.
He had noticed how attached Gideon's son was to Summer. He had also observed that Gideon wasn't living with his wife.
'Are they separated? Divorced? And if so… was Summer the reason? Have they started developing feelings for each other while I was lying in a coma at the hospital?'
