Gideon's frown deepened. He remembered instructing Matthew to dig into Danica's activities. Whatever he had found clearly wasn't good.
"I've been monitoring her bank transactions," Matthew continued. "Recently, she transferred one million to an individual's account. I tried to track him down, and here is the alarming part."
He paused.
"That person's last phone location was traced to the restaurant. There is a strong possibility he was one of the attackers."
"What?" Gideon froze, shock flashing across his face. He had believed Danica was merely resentful over his decision, but he had never imagined she would go so far as to hire men to abduct Noel and harm Summer.
"I still need confirmation," Matthew said cautiously. "Until then, I can't state it as fact."
But Gideon was already convinced. Danica hadn't only been furious with him, but she had harbored deep resentment toward Summer as well.
