Nonna Anita's POV
I stood by Charles' office door with my ears to the door listening in to all his phone call.
I had to revive a part of me that was dead for so long now. I thought I could run away from my past but it would seem like that is impossible. My past came knocking and I don't know how it got out.
I soon heard footsteps and quickly picked up the tray of food I had kept on the floor and pretended to have just arrived and knocked on the door.
"Come in." His deep baritone voice got me yearning for him. I knew that Maria was approaching me.
I twisted the door knob and she quickly pushed me. I fell down to the ground and the food spilled all over.
"Shit! Are you okay, love?" Charles rushed to me and held me in his hands.
"Stop treating the whore as if she is glass. She is trying to seduce you Charles, can't you see that?" Maria said with so much scorn.
