Chapter 45 - "The Namekian God"

__________________________________________________________________________________________________________

"Celari actually reminded me of something. Neither of those two look like Earthlings. I don't know who the dark-skinned one is, but the other one… I've definitely seen someone like him before. He should be a Namekian. So what's he doing on Earth?"

Once Harry said it out loud, he felt like a weight lifted off his shoulders.

He wasn't good at lying—never had been—but this lie was necessary.

Hearing Harry's words, Gine froze. Celari's little mouth hung open, full of curiosity.

"Are you sure, Harry? He's a Namekian?" Gine asked again.

She couldn't help sinking into deep thought.

If a Namekian was on Earth, it meant the planet had already been touched by alien forces. And if that was true… her Kakarot might be in danger.

When Harry nodded, Gine's breath hitched. She inhaled sharply, whispering to herself under her breath that Kakarot would be alright.

Celari wasn't thinking that far ahead. Harry noticed Gine's panic, and something clicked. He hurried to add, "From what I know, Namekians generally have high battle power—at least enough to compare to us Saiyans. But the one in front of us is extremely weak. And on top of that, there's no stronger presence anywhere on Earth. Maybe… just maybe, he was sent here as a child like Kakarot, which is why he's so weak?"

He offered the explanation partly to calm Gine down, partly to keep her from spiraling.

Gine finally snapped out of her panic.

It was true—none of them sensed any powerful energy, and the scouters hadn't picked up anything high.

So Earth hadn't been invaded by high-level Namekians after all.

The three continued quietly discussing their thoughts.

A dozen meters away, Kami and Mr. Popo's hearts were pounding fast.

Things had developed far beyond what they could manage. And now Kami, with his exceptional hearing, had caught every word Harry said. His mind sank into a storm of memories.

He was already shaken by the sudden appearance of a woman and two children with such overwhelming power.

But now nothing mattered more than the truth he had just heard—that he himself was a Namekian.

I'm… an alien race? A Namekian? No wonder I look nothing like humans. No wonder I suffered so much before I was accepted as Earth's guardian. No wonder I've waited all these years and never found any family. Earth's Kami is actually an alien…

Kami's thoughts spiraled out of control.

Popo had no idea his Kami had overheard everything and was currently trapped in his own mind. Sweat streamed down Popo's face, but he didn't dare move a muscle.

Strictly speaking, he was just a servant. Kami hadn't spoken, so he had no right to.

The air grew heavier and heavier.

Eventually, Kami forced himself to snap out of his thoughts. He straightened, pretending to be completely calm as he walked toward the Saiyans.

Inside he was panicking, but his face showed nothing.

"Welcome, travelers from afar. The three of you are guests of Earth. I am Earth's Kami, and this is the Lookout."

As soon as he spoke, Celari's eyes widened in amazement.

"A god? Harry, he says he's a god! But you said he's a Namekian. How can he be both?" she asked, turning toward Harry.

She was also thinking something else: Isn't this 'god' kind of… weak?

Gine also looked to Harry for guidance.

Ever since leaving Planet Vegeta, whatever Harry said had become the default. Even though she was an adult, she'd handed the lead to him.

"The universe really is full of surprises. A Namekian becoming Earth's Kami," Harry said, pretending to be just as shocked.

Hearing those words, Kami's heart nearly collapsed. But now he was fully certain of his origins.

Popo stared at Harry, then at Kami, completely bewildered.

At least the stifling tension from earlier was gone.

"Just luck," Kami said with a gentle smile. "I never imagined I was an alien. Thank you for telling me I'm a Namekian."

He was weak, and he had no idea what the three Saiyans wanted. So being humble and friendly was the safest move.

Seeing Kami's attitude, and glancing at Popo, Harry didn't push any further.

Before he could speak, Gine stepped forward. "You say you're Earth's Kami. In my understanding, a god should be all-knowing, right? Since you call yourself the god of Earth, you must know everything happening on this planet?"

"I wouldn't say complete control, but yes, I know Earth's situation better than anyone. If there's anything I can help you with, please tell me, guests from space," Kami replied, carefully avoiding asking their purpose directly.

Gine hesitated only for a moment, then said, "I want you to help me find someone. My son. He should've arrived on Earth a few months ago."

She wanted to say more, but suddenly couldn't find the right words.

Harry gently tugged her hand, signaling not to rush. "Let me explain, Aunt Gine."

After she nodded, Harry met Kami's eyes.

He could feel Kami's uneasiness. "Don't be nervous. We mean no harm to Earth. Allow me to introduce us properly— we are Saiyans from Planet Vegeta. As for why we're here, a few months ago Aunt Gine's son was accidentally sent to Earth. We're here to find him. So, Kami, can you locate—"

As Harry laid everything out, Kami finally understood the situation.

At least now he knew their purpose and origin. He no longer needed to be as tense.

They were incredibly strong, yes—but they weren't here to invade. That made them allies, not threats.

He relaxed a little. Not completely, but enough.

What surprised him most was that the one speaking for the group wasn't the adult woman, but the child.

"So, can you help us find him?" Harry pressed again.

Inside, he hoped Kami wouldn't find Kakarot too quickly.

At least not until the little guy hit his head—otherwise Kakarot wouldn't become the Kakarot of the original story.

"..."
