When running in a circle, you could run as far as you wanted, and as fast as you wanted. But at the end of the day, you were still moving in a circle and you would end up right where you had begun.
That was a situation that Deacon Roth currently felt applied to him.
The very first time that he and Haley Slater had gotten drunk together, Deacon had woken up in bed with her. And soon after, they had realized that in their drunken state, they had made the mistake of getting married. Now, after yet another night of drinking with Haley Slater, Deacon was waking up next to her.
They were not in bed together. Instead, they were on the living room floor, the couch cushions acting as pillows. The interior of the penthouse soothing in its familiarity, not only that, the two of them were still fully clothed, which was a plus.
But Deacon could not relax.
