Whenever people were in a relationship, it was inevitable that their friends would meet. If that relationship was something serious. Then the friends met often enough for it to be apparent whether or not they got along, or if they merely tolerated each other.
Haley and Deacon were married and they were intending to keep it that way for quite some time. It was only natural that their friends should meet. The two of them going out of their way to make sure that their friends never met each other would have been a major red flag.
So in a way, Haley was glad that Erin had finally met not only Deacon after so long, but also his best friend Paul. Despite that relief she also found herself being overcome by an unbelievable amount of guilt.
