"Lord Leo is the Chosen one!"
The exhausted Baron muttered, drifting back to sleep.
The Royal Inspector stared at the sweating, crying sorry ass mess of a man.
The Inspector wasn't angry. He was in a way deeply impressed. Not by Volkov, but Leo.
Aris knew Volkov was lying, and on his face, the fear was dripping left, right and venter.
Volkov was terrified out of his mind, but there was no physical evidence of torture that Aris could see.
Leo had simply broken the man's spirit so mercilessly that Volkov was eagerly handing over his own power just to be allowed to run away.
It was ruthless, and Aris could not help but want to applause for the man eyeing the position of the Lord.
"Very well, General," Aris said smoothly, "We should not keep Lord Baron from resting. Have a safe journey tomorrow."
And saying so, Aris turned and walked out. Arthur followed, cursing under his breath.
