Chapter 124 - 《Naruto: Ice God》Chapter 124: What's Coming

"Naruto: Ice God"Chapter 124: What's Coming

"But you've got some nerve, kid—snatching the Three-Tails just like that. Don't you know how terrifying Tailed Beasts are?"

Tsunade's fingers twitched slightly, having witnessed Kushina nearly lose control. Even she wouldn't dare face the Nine-Tails head-on.

And this brat had voluntarily become a Jinchūriki...

Well, that settled it. There was no way to extract it now. Tsunade knew well enough that a Jinchūriki would die if separated from their Tailed Beast.

"I was just returning the favor. Since the Mist made their move, I couldn't just sit there and take it."

Of course, Feng Bai couldn't admit he was confident he could deceive—no, reason with and emotionally persuade Isobu.

"Show me the seal."

Even though Feng Bai repeatedly assured her his sealing technique was solid, the worried Tsunade still placed her hand on Feng Bai's stomach, carefully sensing the seal's strength.

"Four Symbols Seal... Your father certainly gave you plenty of good stuff."

Infusing chakra into the seal and sensing the exact technique, Tsunade relaxed her brow slightly, but then furrowed it again.

"What's wrong?"

Feng Bai, somewhat frightened by Tsunade's expression, swallowed nervously and asked.

"Hmph, your skills are lacking—the technique is too crude."

Feeling the seal's feedback was somewhat intermittent, Tsunade increased her chakra output. The burning sensation on his stomach nearly made Feng Bai cry out.

"Bear with it, kid!"

Suddenly releasing her grip and then pressing down hard, Tsunade reinforced the unstable parts of Feng Bai's seal.

Isobu, who had been sleeping peacefully inside Feng Bai, felt a rumbling noise. Opening his eyes, he saw his previously spacious living quarters had suddenly become much more cramped.

What is the Jinchūriki doing?

Before Isobu could figure out what was happening, Tsunade had finished her work and removed her hand.

The sealing space became quiet again.

Isobu: ...Whatever, back to sleep.

Feeling his movements weren't particularly restricted, Isobu closed his eyes again. Then, as if remembering something, he opened them and tried channeling some chakra—finding it flowed exceptionally smoothly, he understood.

I see, the sealing technique has been perfected.

"All right, I won't linger. There are Root members waiting to see you outside."

Clapping her hands, Tsunade rose from Feng Bai's bedside, flexed her wrist, and strode out of the tent without giving Feng Bai time to say goodbye.

"Young Master Feng Bai."

Everything happened so quickly that by the time Feng Bai realized what Tsunade had done, a masked Root ninja was already standing before him.

"I deeply apologize. It was my negligence that led to this incident."

As the Root squad leader at the Mist battlefield, Ding Wu's first words were to confess his failure.

"You don't need to apologize to me. After all, I'm currently just an ordinary Konoha ninja, not part of Root's organization."

Feng Bai shook his head, telling him not to worry. After all, he'd already realized it was a trap before leaving, and things developing to this point was largely due to his own overconfidence in his abilities.

"Tell me, what exactly happened?"

Raising his hand slightly to signal the other could rise, Feng Bai began inquiring about what occurred after he lost consciousness: "Who was it that ultimately saved me, and where is Kurosuki Raiga?"

He still couldn't find Madara's proxy, but Kurosuki Raiga wouldn't escape. Once he recovered properly, he'd show him what it meant to be Konoha's kidney-slicing specialist!

Grinding his teeth, Feng Bai imagined Kurosuki Raiga writhing in agony after having his kidneys removed—an expression that appeared particularly menacing in Ding Wu's eyes.

"Yes, the incident began when Uchiha Wada left the village without permission..."

Not daring to withhold anything, Ding Wu explained the entire sequence of events to Feng Bai.

"Uchiha Wada..."

Feng Bai rolled the name around in his mouth.

This guy must be that unfamiliar corpse he'd seen.

No, there was also the possibility he was Madara's proxy.

"Were there any corpses of Uchiha Wada at the scene?"

Feng Bai asked a crucial question.

"No. Apart from B and C—Yamanaka Zen and Shimura Ikku—we found no other bodies."

Ding Wu's answer was exactly what Feng Bai had expected.

It seemed Obito's safety had already caused changes in the plot. Madara had found a new proxy, but Feng Bai had no idea of his name or abilities.

His intelligence advantage as a transmigrator was rapidly diminishing.

"Did Uchiha Wada have any family?"

"He had a son, daughter-in-law, and grandson, all of whom have died."

From Ding Wu, Feng Bai learned that Wada's son and daughter-in-law had died at the Iwagakure battlefield, while his grandson Uchiha Yowan had perished at the Mist battlefield.

Uchiha Yowan?

Why did that name sound somewhat familiar?

"We found traces of genjutsu on the corpses of Yamanaka Zen and Shimura Ikku. Combined with Uchiha Wada's defection, Lord Danzo suspects the Uchiha might revolt. Large forces have already been dispatched from Konoha to restrict the actions of certain hawkish Uchiha members."

While Feng Bai was pondering, Ding Wu delivered another bombshell.

"Lord Danzo himself will arrive soon to take command from Mitokado Homura. He should be here around noon."

"No! We're in the middle of a war. If we provoke conflict between the Uchiha and the village, it could cause internal strife and let the Mist reap the benefits!"

Feng Bai immediately objected, but realizing this person was merely following orders, he softened his tone: "Have your people stand by for now. When father arrives, I'll discuss it with him."

Hearing this, Ding Wu's expression behind his mask showed some turmoil.

Lord Danzo's orders couldn't be disobeyed, but the young master's words couldn't be ignored either.

With their intentions clearly conflicting, whichever side he chose would inevitably offend the other.

Seeing Ding Wu's dilemma after receiving no response for some time, Feng Bai gentled his tone and began analyzing the current situation: "Father won't arrive until noon at the earliest. You can use this time for preparations. We're currently at war, and Mitokado Homura is still the battlefield commander. Even if you need to act, you'll require his permission."

"The matter of Uchiha Wada hasn't been definitively concluded yet. I also have some intelligence to report to father. If he still insists on this order after hearing it, I won't interfere."
