Chai sat on the sofa, her eyes wide as she looked around the penthouse. "Okay, first of all, this place is INSANE. I knew Timothy Blackwood was rich, but this is like... movie-level wealth. And second...." She turned to Emily with intense focus. "PRINCESS EMILY?! You're PRINCESS EMILY OF NORVALE?!"
"Yes," Emily confirmed, settling into the chair across from her. "I know it sounds impossible....."
"It sounds AMAZING!" Chai interrupted. "Emily, I watched the entire press conference! The DNA evidence, your speech, the way you handled those journalists.....you were INCREDIBLE! But also...." Her expression shifted to concern. "Are you okay? This must be so overwhelming. Finding out you're royalty, going public, dealing with international media...."
"I'm okay," Emily said softly. "Actually, I'm better than okay. Chai, for the first time in three years, I feel like I can breathe. Like I'm not hiding anymore. Like I'm finally being myself."
