Emily's final class before Switzerland ended with Professor Kim wishing her luck at CERN and making her promise to take detailed notes about the particle physics research.
"This is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity, Miss Blackwood," Professor Kim said warmly as Emily packed her bag. "Make the most of it. And don't let the imposter syndrome get to you.....you belong in those facilities as much as any researcher there."
"Thank you, Professor," Emily said sincerely. "I'll do my best to represent the university well."
Chai walked with her toward the campus exit, linking her arm through Emily's. "I can't believe you're leaving tomorrow morning. Six AM flight? That's inhumane."
"Private jet," Emily reminded her. "At least I can sleep on the plane."
