Silva looked at the temple of Diana before he left the borders of Camp Jupiter. He was able to feel that the temple wanted him to stay. But he decided against doing so.
Camp half blood did have a little prejudice, but it never reached the level of Camp Jupiter. The more Silva remembered being put in trial, the more he felt like getting away from this place.
As Silva walked outside the boundaries of Camp Jupiter, the denizens inside were going through an entirely different trial.
"That was pathetic but expected" Mars scoffed as he looked at the fallen romans being attended by other members of the camp who were trying to heal the wounded from dying due to blood-loss.
He came near Octavious who stood up and immediately started begging to Mars.
"Oh, great God of War Mars, look at what that arrogant demigod had done to the children of Rome. Look at how he almost killed everyone. He must be punished for his sins.
And look at her, look at our leader, who didn't even put up a fight and just surrendered the moment she stood in front of him" Octavious pointed to Reyna who was tending to her soldiers and accused her.
Reyna felt anger rising withing her, but she said nothing. Because what Octavious said was right, when Reyna confronted Silva, she did not do anything. Even though it was the best possible thing to do at the moment, it does not absolve the fact that the leader of the roman camp had surrendered without even putting up a fight.
So Reyna turned to Ares and bowed her head down, as if waiting for her punishment.
Octavious who was feeling giddy about the fact that Reyna was looking down. He can now see himself getting the role of Praetor before long. But just as he was about to continue pinning all the blame onto Reyna, he felt his vison tilt to the side.
Bam!
The entire avenue of demigods saw Octavious getting smashed onto the pillar nearby. They realised that Mars had stopped Octavious from spouting anything more.
Mars scoffed as he spoke.
"I am not here to speak about how much of an embarrassment you guys had been. I am here to question something else entirely" He said as he began walking slowly towards Octavious.
Mars scoffed at how the demigod who was shouting at him about the injustice he faced moments ago had fainted by a simple strike done by him.
He used his powers to forcefully wake him up and picked him up with one hand.
"Didn't Apollo gave you instructions on how to treat that boy months ago. When did you have the audacity to treat his orders like that.
Did you think you could hide behind the protections given by your ancestors or something. Answer me you fool, why the hell are you silent now!!" Mars screamed in Octavious's face.
But Octavious was too scared to utter even a single word. The only think that was keeping sure that he won't do anything was the advice he got from one of the older camp Praetor before he left the camp.
"The gods have rules that prevent them from attacking mortals. The mortals too cannot attack gods because they are unable to comprehend them somehow. But the heroes are different, they can go anywhere and challenge anyone as long as they have the guts to do it.
But remember this, when I meant challenge, I mean heroes and not demigods as a whole. So as long as you don't directly challenge the god, you will survive. There might be a chance of being cursed, but as long as you are alive, there might be a chance to fix it" the Praetor said to the crowd of demigods who came to say goodbye to him.
Octavious was among the crowd of demigods that day, so he knew the only way he can survive Mar's wrath was for him to keep silent and do nothing at all.
"Hmm" Mars scoffed "At least you are smart enough not to make a move. No wonder you try your hand in politics by so much"
He then brought Octavious close to his face.
"But don't misunderstand, the gods may not be allowed to attack you unless challenged due to certain ancient laws. But you do something like this again, I wouldn't hesitate to break those laws and suffer the consequences myself to take you down." Even though Mars spoke slowly, every one of them heard him give the warning clearly. "For now, you will be stripped off all the power and position you have for the foreseeable future."
Thunder rumbled in the sky as if enacting the judgement given by the war god
They realised the god was warning all of them.
The Mars brought him closer to whisper in his ear.
"The only reason I am not doing anything to you is because your fate is going to be worse than you can imagine in the future" he said as he dropped him down. Mars tilted his head slightly to look at Diana's statue.
As the God of war, he was able to easily sense the battle that happened here just moments ago. He was also able to see through the true nature of Silva as well. Knowing the judgement Diana is going to enact on the camp for revenge will be disastrous, he took it upon himself to come here so as to satiate her anger.
He then turned towards Reyna.
"The only reason you are not punished right now, is because the root cause of all these problems was the incompetence of your subordinates elected by idiots" Mars spat but Reyna was not able to reply to it.
"Do not repeat this mistake. And heed the warning the demigod gave you. For even I would not underestimate the first silver hunter whose limits are still unknown" Mars spoke as he disappeared
At the same time in San Francisco, Silva was being dragged into a store room by a girl who seemed really familiar to him.
A/N- hope you like it.
