After a near collapse, the two resumed a death-match state.
Now, Luffy unleashed his strongest Second Gear technique:

Lucci's eyes rolled back under the barrage.
Just as everyone thought Luffy had won, a figure went flying across the battlefield—it was Vice Admiral Onigumo.

"Sandy? How are you here? Wait—where's Robin? Where is everyone?" Luffy fired questions one after another.
Sandy rolled his eyes. "They're surrounded by Marines. Let's move!"
He glanced up. The sky was perfectly clear.
Tch. If only there was a storm—he would've happily delivered some divine punishment.
As for the Space Fruit?
He wasn't going to use it casually when multiple Vice Admirals were around. Even though he felt like he could beat ten people right now… he wasn't stupid.
[Ding, pheromone system optimization complete. Does the Host wish to browse?]

Luffy staggered. His legs trembled.
Sandy sighed. "Get on. I'm carrying you."

At the Straw Hats' battlefield, Sandy descended through the air carrying Luffy.
Luffy shouted happily, "Woah! Zoro! Robin! Hey!"
"Bastard Straw Hat," Sandy snapped, "stop swinging around! Do you want to strangle me?! And don't move!"
Marines stared in confusion.
"Why?! Why can a human walk in the air?!"
"Is this the time to wonder?! That's Straw Hat Luffy and Sleep God Sandy!"
"Straw Hat Luffy! Sleep God Sandy! You are surrounded! Come down and surrender—!"
Seeing them return, the Straw Hats regained morale instantly.
Zoro tied on his bandana. "Marines… don't look away. Three-Sword Style—Three Thousand Worlds!"
He frowned at the unfamiliar blade in his hand. His beloved Yukibashiri had been rusted beyond use earlier.
Usopp shouted, "What happened to Luffy?!"
"Hehehe," Luffy laughed weakly, "Second Gear… used it a bit too long."
Sandy barked, "Is this the time for chatter?! Run! I didn't expect that damn Ghost Spider to wake up so fast—"
"Ghost Spider?!"
"Didn't you defeat him?!"
"That's not the point! Run!"
One thing that irritated Sandy was how bizarre the people in this world were. Iron Body, Haki… their flesh sometimes felt harder than steel. A slash that could cut a mountain might not cut their skin.
Ridiculous!
"Hm?" Sandy stopped. "Did you hear something weird?"
"Yeah," Nami replied.
Usopp froze. "It sounds… like a voice calling us?"
Luffy said, "It's saying… jump down?"
Chopper screamed, "That's the sea, you idiot—wait, that's the Going Merry! How did it get here?!"
Sandy immediately grabbed Franky by the collar.
"Franky! Did you throw the Merry into the sea?! Who told it to come save us?!"
Franky rolled his eyes. "Hey kid, we're partners now, right? It was Kaku who pushed the Merry Go into the sea! And who the hell sailed it here? That's suicidal!"
"Kaku?!" Sandy snarled. "Where is he?! I'll cut him down!"
BONK.
Nami hit him. "Is now the time for that? RUN!"
Luffy laughed on his back. "The Merry came to save us! Isn't that great?"
Before Sandy could retort, Zoro warned.
"The warships have already aimed their cannons. We only have one choice—jump."
"Then we're all jumping!"
"Wait for me!" Sanji shouted while carrying Kokoro, Chimney, and Gonbe.
"Jump into the sea!!"
Everyone leapt together.
