"How did their ship sneak into our fleet?! Adjust the formation immediately—stop them!"
At the very moment the Straw Hats were about to plunge into the ocean, Sandy used his ability to transfer everyone safely onto the Going Merry.
Sanji lit a cigarette. "I don't know who sailed her here, but it really saved our skins."
Zoro frowned. "Did someone steer it? Why is there no one on board except us?"
Chopper burst into tears. "It's the Merry! The Merry came to save us! I love you, Merry!"
Usopp slid down the mast with shaking hands, tears streaming. "Merry… Merry… you're still alive! Why… why did you appear from Water 7?…"
Chopper bawled louder. "I already… I already… wuwuwu…"
Franky stared. "Unbelievable. This ship was thrown into the sea back then…"
Sandy grimaced. "You guys are disgusting. Stop being so emotional—hey! Let go of me!!"
Chopper transformed into Heavy Point, slammed Sandy onto the deck, sat on his legs, and yelled, "You jerk! Apologize!"
Lying next to him, Luffy mumbled, "Yeah! Apologize, idiot Space!"
Sandy slapped the deck. "A bunch of idiots. Me? Apologize? Not happening!"
"!!"
"Damn—"
"Wuaah—"
"Tch." Zoro rolled his eyes. "Quit messing around, we're still surrounded by the Marines. Nami, give the orders."
"Ah! Right!" Nami rushed to the helm.
Luffy, sprawled on the deck, sighed. "That was close… I thought we were goners. Oh, Robin—"
Robin sealed his mouth with a Blossom and smiled. "Everyone… thank you."
Everyone smiled warmly in return—
Until Zoro cut in, "Save it. Let's talk after we escape."
"Dang dang dang—!"
Sanji kicked him. "What do you mean boring, you moss-headed idiot?!"
Chopper launched at Zoro and lifted his legs just like he did to Sandy. "What do you mean, Green Algae?!"
Zoro growled, "It's pointless if we die here!"
"Apologize to Robin!" Chopper demanded.
"No—no—!"
Nami climbed to the upper deck. "Alright everyone, get ready—we're making a break for it!"
"Woooh!!"
Meanwhile
There was no chance the Marines would let the Straw Hats escape.
Especially Onigumo, who had just regained consciousness. His face looked even more ghost-like after Sandy's Lightning Kick.
He snarled, "All fleets—aim at the Straw Hat Pirates and prepare for bombardment! Load the cannons! Evil must not be allowed to exist! Let justice carve fear into their souls!"
"Engrave fear into the pirates!!" the Marines repeated.
On the Merry, everyone heard the broadcast.
Usopp clutched his head. "What do we do?! We're gonna die! The warships already have us in their sights!!"
Sandy rolled his eyes. "Usopp, stop panicking. Haven't you noticed the sea current changed?"
"Sea current?" Usopp blinked.
"Changed?!" Chopper echoed.
Sandy smirked. "They won't hit us for now. In fact… the show's about to start. Pay close attention."
"???" Everyone stared.
Sandy took out the cloak he'd picked up earlier, put it on dramatically, then walked to the bow.
He pointed at the nearest warship.
"Hey! Marines! Give me some face and turn around now!"
Usopp and the others smacked their foreheads.
Impossible…
A Marine Vice Admiral picked up a Den Den Mushi. "Pirates. You cannot esc—"
"Yo-ho!" Sandy interrupted. "Old dog, how's your face after that kick? You look even more like a ghost now. You're welcome."
Usopp yanked him. "Don't provoke him!! Please!!"
Chopper cried, "He's a Vice Admiral!!!"
"Heh-heh-heh." Kokoro laughed. "You're one funny pirate… beating a Vice Admiral into that state."
Franky wiped sweat. "Didn't expect you to be that fearless, Sandy!"
On the warship, Onigumo roared, "Why aren't the cannons ready?!"
"Almost loaded, Vice Admiral!!"
"Vice Admiral? Hahaha!" Sandy held his stomach laughing. "Old dog, with that half-human half-ghost face—"
BONK.
Nami slapped him. "Enough! Zoro, Sanji, everyone—move!"
Sandy quickly said, "I'm in charge of safety! You guys go ahead!"
Then he turned back to Onigumo. "Hmm? Where was I just now?"
Onigumo nearly exploded from rage.
"Hahaha!!" Luffy burst out laughing. "Neither human nor ghost!"
"Right, right." Sandy nodded. "Old dog—oh wait, what was I saying? Damn it, Nami scrambled my brain!"
Franky groaned. "Can you be serious for once?!"
"Hahahaha!" Luffy howled. "You're too much, Sandy!"
BOOM BOOM BOOM!!!
The Marine warships fired.
But just as Sandy predicted, the shifted sea current threw their aim completely off.
"What… SELF-DESTRUCT?!" Usopp shouted. "All the shots missed!"
A furious voice rang from a Den Den Mushi:
"You pigs!! Where were you aiming?!"
A Marine replied, trembling, "The cannonballs… deviated on their own!!"
"BOOM—!!"
Two Marine warships suddenly collided.
From a corner of the Merry, Chopper and Usopp stared at Sandy's back.
His cloak fluttered, the big X slashing through the kanji for Justice dancing in the wind.
He looked like an untouchable legend.
"S-Sugoi…"
Even Luffy stared, eyes shining.
"Hey Sandy… are you… are you a god? How'd you predict all that?!"
Franky gulped. "Seriously… who ARE you?!"
