While Luffy and Lucci were locked in fierce combat, on the drawbridge where Sandy and Robin were located, Franky was using his Centaur form, chasing a group of Marines in circles.
Sandy said speechlessly, "I really don't know who is playing around over there…"
Boom—!
An explosion suddenly shook the outer defensive barrier of Enies Lobby—the Buster Call warships had finally arrived.
On one of the warships, a Marine reported, "Vice Admiral, the previous shelling hit the defensive barrier at the four o'clock position ahead of the main island!"
Wearing a red Marine cape with the large word "Justice" on the back, Vice Admiral Doberman didn't even turn around.
"So what?"
"Huh?"
"I asked you—so what?"
"T-There's no problem!"
"This is an indiscriminate attack. It doesn't matter where the shells hit," Doberman said coldly. "Our mission is to burn everything down.
Once Enies Lobby is fully within firing range, begin simultaneous bombardment immediately. Instead of wasting time reporting, go prepare for the next volley."
"Yes, sir!"
On the drawbridge, the moment Robin saw the Buster Call fleet arriving, she was so terrified that she dropped to her knees. Sandy stepped toward her.
"You okay?"
Robin hugged her trembling arms.
"Uncontrollable destruction… flames swallowing everything… that tragedy… that catastrophe… again…"
Franky finally realized something was wrong with her.
Sandy sighed softly, "Robin, you weren't afraid of dying. So what are you afraid of now? Everyone's waiting for us to go back."
"Huh…?" Robin snapped out of it. The Straw Hats. Everything. Their promise.
After steadying her breath, she stood up.
"I'll fight too. I'm fine."
BOOOOM—!
In the large room underground, a huge blast erupted. Lucci had been blown clean out of the building by Luffy's Third Gear attack, landing directly on one of the Buster Call warships.
On another warship, Vice Admiral Onigumo approached.
"What happened? Report."
"Vice Admiral! Due to the fierce battle between the Straw Hat Boy and CP9's Rob Lucci, Warship No. 4 has been completely destroyed!"
Onigumo replied calmly, "As for Rob Lucci… he won't die."
Then he ordered through the den den mushi, "All gunners—aim at Warship No. 4. Simultaneous bombardment in five seconds."
A nearby Marine panicked.
"Wait! Vice Admiral, there are a thousand of our soldiers on board!"
Onigumo didn't argue.
He simply drew his pistol.
BANG—!
The Marine collapsed instantly.
Everyone froze in terror.
Onigumo spoke coldly, "Can you take responsibility if an evil criminal escapes because you hesitated? Fire."
Meanwhile…
"Wow," Sandy laughed. "Franky, looks like we're surrounded. Kinda exciting!"
"Exciting?!" Franky snapped. "We should be stealing a warship and getting the hell out!"
Robin couldn't help but cover her mouth and laugh. Sandy truly had Luffy-level nerves.
Using Observation Haki, Sandy overheard Onigumo's order—kill a thousand Marines without hesitation. All in the name of "justice."
Responsibility?
If killing your own men was acceptable so long as "evil" was destroyed, then who took responsibility for them? For the Marine just executed for speaking up?
Sandy had disliked Onigumo's twisted ideology even before transmigrating. Seeing it in person only intensified it.
Robin and Franky noticed the shift in Sandy's expression.
"What's wrong?" Franky asked.
Sandy said, "You two get on that escort warship. No Marines on it. I need to meet that so-called Vice Admiral."
"Vice Admiral?!" Franky yelped. "Are you serious?! Shouldn't we be escaping?!"
"Zoro and the others aren't here yet, and Luffy's fight isn't done. Go."
Franky sighed. "Fine… but be careful!"
"Sandy…" Robin said softly.
Sandy smiled, "Just a Vice Admiral. Don't worry."
Sandy pulled his treasured sword High Wind from his spatial backpack.
Franky glanced back.
"Robin, what is he doing?"
Robin chuckled.
"You'll see."
Sandy pulled off the cape from an unconscious Marine, drew a large X across the word Justice, put it on, secured his sword, and stepped forward toward Onigumo's warship.
The Marines panicked.
"That's a Marine?"
"No! That's the Pirate with a 300 million Belly bounty—Sleep God Sandy!"
"What the hell is he doing wearing a Marine cloak?!"
Sandy raised his head slowly.
"Marines, give me some face—and go home."
"What kind of joke is that, Pirate?! We're here to destroy this island!"
"Sandy! Drop your weapon and surrender, or we'll open fire!"
"We're here to execute a Buster Call, not arrest Pirates!"
Onigumo appeared again.
"What's happening?"
"Vice Admiral, Sleep God Sandy has appeared ahead!"
"Aim the cannons at him."
Sandy exhaled, "Not giving me face… huh?"
He drew High Wind and pointed directly at Onigumo.
"Old dog—get over here and die."
Gasps erupted across the deck.
A pirate challenging a Navy Headquarters Vice Admiral head-on?!
Onigumo glared.
"You are arrogant. Drawing your sword against a Vice Admiral?"
He raised a hand.
"Open fire. In the name of absolute Justice—eradicate evil."
BOOM BOOM BOOM—!
When the smoke cleared, Sandy stood there unharmed.
"Old dog, your face is dark, your lips are huge, and you're fucking ugly. Being ugly is one thing, but running around the world farting about justice? Disgusting."
Sandy had simply hidden inside his spatial backpack during the barrage.
Onigumo's eyes twitched.
"Sandy…"
"I'm here, old dog. Didn't expect I'd be so handsome you'd recognize me from across the ocean, huh?"
"Shave!"
FWOOOSH—!
"Two-Sword Style: Two Slash!"
Onigumo appeared before Sandy, blades flashing.
Sandy vanished, reappearing behind him.
"Armament Haki—Hardening."
"One-Sword Style…"
"Extreme… CHOP!"
Knowing his opponent was strong, Sandy used full power from the start—an execution-level slash.
But Onigumo, a Vice Admiral, reacted instantly with Observation Haki and blocked with crossed blades.
CLANG—!
Even so, Sandy's power forced his swords downward. The blade slid through and pierced his shoulder, blood spraying out.
The force cracked the bridge beneath him.
A spiderweb of fractures spread—
—and the entire section collapsed, sending Onigumo falling.
BOOOOM—!
"V-Vice Admiral!!"
"No way! A Vice Admiral… beaten by a Pirate?!"
"Impossible! He must've underestimated him! Sleep God Sandy can't be a Vice Admiral's match!"
