"Is this it? The Magic Array?"
Behind the door, Su Ming finally saw the 'Magic Pillar' Magic Array he had been expecting, but the reality was somewhat different from his guess.
The body of the Magic Array was only the size of a manhole cover, and it looked very ordinary, without Magic Radiance or any special patterns.
It looked like an Indian Dreamcatcher pieced together with silver-white branches, lying flat on the ground, covered with a thick layer of dust.
But after Albella and Zatanna squatted down to examine it, they confirmed that they were in the right place. This inconspicuous thing was indeed the Magic Pillar that both sides were searching for.
"The Magic Arrays you've seen, many rely on the power of Hell; the Casting Materials are usually souls or flesh, but not all Magic Arrays are like that."
Albella explained to Su Ming while holding a bottle of wine, and then took several big gulps.
Su Ming calculated that she had already drunk seven or eight bottles of whiskey in a few hours tonight, enough to intoxicate a horse.
Although Albella still seemed sober, Su Ming wanted to hear Zatanna's judgment. After all, a slightly more sober Female Mage seemed more reliable.
Zatanna stood up and wiped her hands on her clothes: "She's right, this is indeed a very powerful Array. Although it looks inconspicuous, it serves as the perfect cover."
"In fact, the materials are not ordinary at all: the branch of the world's first Laurel Tree, the first Olive Branch carried by the White Dove on Noah's Ark, the tears of Cain and Abel, and even a small piece of God's Shroud, with a large number of Enochian Runes. It's a clever approach, using God's power to resist Hecate."
Albella raised her wine bottle, explaining in detail while toasting to the sky, as if intending to share her whiskey with God.
Bo Bo scratched his head, crumpling the Detective Hat in his hand into a ball: "Wait, are you saying there's always been a God's chapel beneath Mount Olympus?"
Su Ming whistled: "Whew~ I don't see it that way. They just have a penchant for theft, stealing God's power to deal with another former owner."
Albella pointed at Su Ming with her finger with a smile, winking to show she agreed with this view.
Donna didn't have much of a reaction, as Diana had already told her that whether it was the Titan Gods or Olympus, these so-called gods had their issues.
As for God? Based on the intelligence from Hell, issues exist there as well.
"This doesn't really count as a chapel, just a piecing together of things related to God."
Zatanna concluded, feeling exhausted.
She had thought her inherited Antithesis Magic was the purest since she didn't have to revere any god to wield powerful forces.
However, in reality, her magic was stolen from the fundamental darkness, and her father had seen the most essential fire.
Therefore, Antithesis Magic is inverted, which is why she has the power to rewrite reality.
But now with the Inverted Man present, her power was useless, and aside from her understanding of the Magic Realm, she felt quite worthless.
She felt very helpless and worried about Constantine's situation in Hell.
There was a door in the Underground Palace. If Constantine escaped, he should have been able to reach here instantly through the Mysterious House, but he hadn't come yet.
.................
Unbeknownst to others, the cunning Constantine was figuring out how to trick the Hell Demon Kings into extending his life.
Since too many wanted his soul, everyone finally decided to settle it in a more gentle manner.
Which was to hit the gambling table, each staking their soul.
Except for Satan, who was familiar with his tricks, and Maggie Ken, who was uninterested, the other demons were easily duped onto the gambling table by this scoundrel.
The angels temporarily retreated, while the chaotic nature of the demons erupted. Each had their own agenda, and the reason for the angels' madness temporarily didn't matter much.
Destroy Hell? Let's play a few rounds first.
Though Constantine was dying, under the agreement, his soul remained his own before his death.
Since it was his, he could naturally gamble with it.
He got the demons to play Mahjong, a game unfamiliar to them, and it was an elimination-based competition now in its thirteenth round.
Before the competition concluded, the demons wouldn't let him die, to allow him to complete the game, to prove themselves stronger than the other demons, for the right to Constantine's filthy soul.
There would always be a Demon King offering him Demon's Blood, which was Constantine's plan.
He was gambling with his life, leaving no room for distraction, and the Demon Kings were learning to play even faster one after the other…
....................
Su Ming bent down to try, and the construct of branches and torn cloth before him looked like an unusual wreath.
It seemed casually placed on the ground, but he couldn't move it an inch with his current strength, as if space itself was locked.
"Don't bother trying." Albella leisurely smoked a cigarette on the side: "Do you know why it's called the Pillar? It's currently supporting the weight of the entire world's Magic Barrier. You can destroy it, but lifting it is impossible."
Su Ming pouted, stood up, and began setting up Batman's instruments and equipment around.
"Like air cannot be lifted by people?"
Albella tilted her head and scratched her hair with the fingers holding the cigarette: "Close, more like how people can't lift Earth. People live on Earth and simultaneously on everything made of magic."
Su Ming embedded pole-like devices into the ground, inserting batteries adorned with Bat symbols. Then, he hid them with a few stones.
Several were also needed on the surrounding walls to create a deceptively real 3D effect.
These were deliberately made foolproof so that Batman could install them as quickly as needed, preloaded with Ares' image and voice, clearly prepared to deal with Diana.
"I guess magic isn't quite my field; your theory doesn't hold much value for me."
"It does, assuming you have a Pivot and an infinitely long lever, you could move Earth." Albella took a sip of wine and smiled at him: "The kind of pursuit the gods have always had, like now with Hecate."
"Like Hecate."
Su Ming nodded in agreement, and the devices were now set up in this prototype hall. Now, it just depended on how Barry's high-tech part turned out.
And as a scientist, Barry would not disappoint Su Ming. The learning ability accelerated by Divine Speed allowed him to fully master Batman's system.
He even upgraded it, giving the Illusion an automatic response to external concerns.
This was certainly thanks to the technological reserves at Star Laboratory.
"What kind of dummy do you want? God?" Barry flexed his fingers, ready to fulfill Deathstroke's wishes at the touch of the keyboard.
This felt like being a director, and it thrilled him a little.
"Hmm..... first, make a Giant, with tentacle-like organs full of suckers between its legs, one that can speak... yes, with rotting skin... more rotten, like the color of an oatmeal-fed baby's vomit on runny cow dung."
Barry: "..."
