Empty, empty, empty, the next series of cabins were all empty.
Su Ming could even see dust floating in the air, the lights of Paris on the ground outside the porthole making these suspended particles sparkle.
He had made a judgment in his mind; it seemed the enemy hadn't discovered his plan for long, not even having time to prepare enough 'gifts' for him here.
This airship must have taken off hastily during the chaos and then left directly to lure him.
But the guests have arrived, and those 'welcome' traps before were clearly not enough, there must be at least one monster behind, one that the enemy considers a surprise.
While thinking, Su Ming kept walking and pushed open the next door.
To be honest, the creaking sound when this broken door was pushed open did remind one of Biohazard.
The moment he pushed the door, suddenly a huge fist appeared from behind the door, at a terrifying speed, directly slamming into his chest armor, sending Su Ming flying.
The cloak and symbiote immediately helped him slow down on the floor, this blow made him crash through all the previous cabins, almost falling out.
The symbiote scraped several deep marks on the ground.
"Cough, cough..."
The enemy was not only powerful but also very fast, Su Ming had just seen a shadow but couldn't dodge.
To make someone whose presence he couldn't detect, he probably had a guess.
A speed-type mutant, not like The Flash who gains speed through Divine Speed, but a mutation brought by the X Gene.
This speed also grants the host tremendous impact force.
But the fact is, forces work mutually; when the opponent punched the Holy Statue Armor earlier, it must have felt uncomfortable too, right?
Unfortunately, the facts say otherwise, a bizarre creature appeared where Su Ming had been knocked away, looking like a skinless monkey, with clearly mutated fists, resembling thick pillars, dragging on the ground behind it.
Each fist was thicker than its waist; if they were solid, they'd weigh at least hundreds of kilograms, with inorganic claws or exoskeleton completely encasing the fists, resembling enormous warhammers.
Its eyes held only bestial instincts, devoid of any human thought. This creature might have once been human, but genetic experimentation had long since driven it mad.
It's well known that madmen feel no pain; when you beat a madman, he merely keeps laughing oddly.
"Gah!!!"
The creature let out a shriek, instantly disappearing from Su Ming's view, its faint shadow lost in the cluttered cabin.
"Here it comes..."
Immediately, Su Ming felt hit, his whole body thrown backward out of the airship, the cloak catching him, stopping him mid-air after flying a hundred or two meters.
He rubbed his chest, finding himself not seriously injured, his armor and X Skeleton offering great protection.
But if the monster kept batting him around like a ball, it would be an endless cycle, rushing over only to be knocked back again and again...
Deathstroke isn't Sea King and has no fondness for absorbing damage like that.
"I need to choose a strategy... tch, if only Barry were here..." Su Ming rushed towards the airship, mentally drafting his plan.
Just like mages should handle mages, speedsters are supposed to handle other speedsters.
But lacking that condition, Su Ming still had a way.
Maybe other speedsters don't have such a weakness, but this monster in front of him does. It lacks intelligence and is very short; the previous two attacks completely exposed its flaws.
If it could reach Su Ming's head, why would it hit his thickly armoured chest twice? Even a monster should know that's the hardest part, right?
If it wished to reach a person's innards, it could attack the abdomen, which is soft.
This could only mean it aims for the head or neck, but it cannot reach them.
The monster's destructive power stems from high speed; its own strength is insufficient to lift its fists, relying entirely on inertia to swing its massive ground-dragging fists, like a yo-yo.
Being too short with insufficient strength to jump with its fists gives Su Ming his victory chance.
The cloak took Su Ming through the broken hole into the pod, sticking directly to the ceiling, making Su Ming face the floor. The cabin height was five meters - a lifetime out of reach for this monster.
The phantoms the monster formed flickered below, attempting to leap, but those exaggerated fists became burdensome now.
It also tried climbing the walls, but it's not Quicksilver, nowhere near fast enough, and gravity pulled it back to the floor again.
Watching the creature's antics, Su Ming closed his eyes, removing a flash bomb from his chest and detonating it in hand.
The white light instantly illuminated the entire cabin, visible by the citizens below as a burst of bright light in the air.
No matter how quick, a monster differs from a thinking being; it immediately lost sight, and once its vision returned, it saw Deathstroke tilting his head, eying it with his monocular gaze.
"Can you fly?"
It didn't understand human speech, but the next moment, it noticed a large red cloth wrapped around its numb arm, unknown when placed there.
That red cloth immediately whisked it out the window, dropping it from high up into the air.
Flailing in the sky, its features shrunk to a pinprick size before crashing into the ground, leaving a crater filled with its mangled remains.
The symbiote kept Su Ming glued to the ceiling, now releasing numerous black threads to gently lower him down.
The Magic Floating Cloak, having discarded the monster, tilted a corner, dusting itself off, turning mid-air, victoriously flying back to Su Ming's shoulder like a heroic returning champion.
"Not bad, far more reliable than Wade." Su Ming congratulated the cloak, not allowing it much chance for swaggering, continuing through the chain of breached cabins to advance.
The pod where the monster was, resembled a laboratory, though all the equipment seemed unused for ages, covered in dust.
The red goggles scanned around, no sign of recent human activity under the cabin's white lights.
At that moment, the surrounding lights extinguished, a device sitting on a table activated automatically, like a projector, displaying a person's image on the wall.
The figure wore Hydra military attire, though their face remained hidden, like a masked bandit, with a purple velveteen cloth hood, held in place by a gold headband.
The individual examined Su Ming, there must be surveillance cameras here, and an indescribable look appeared in his blue eyes.
"A super soldier, not only powerful but also intelligent." He leaned closer to the camera with great interest, as if to crawl through the projection.
"Ah, the Hydra brains, Baron Zemo. I was wondering who was being so crafty."
"Oh? Recognized me? Seems your intelligence gathering scores pretty well...."
"Bang! Bang!"
Before he could finish speaking, Su Ming raised his hand, shooting out the projector and corner camera. As the projector spurted sparks and smoke, the wall image distorted a few times and disappeared.
Su Ming only needed to know his opponent; there was no need to chat idly with the enemy.
"Since you want to play hide and seek with the Namor Fragment, I'll catch you, extract what I want, and hang you from a tree..."
He knew what Zemo intended to do, so he contemplated while retracing his steps.
The door closed automatically before him, his arm flicked, Godslayer slicing the door in two.
Su Ming kicked away the door pieces, diving out through the porthole.
Indeed, the airship behind him exploded violently the moment he leaped out the window.
The massive gas-filled envelope, along with bombs Zemo had long planted, set the sky ablaze, turning the airship into a fiery skeleton, disintegrating as it plummeted groundward.
Su Ming floated silently nearby, watching its descent, then turned to prepare for the next fight.
