Chapter 63 - "Am I a toy?"

"W-woah! There are more monsters, yet the boss is still not here!" One of the predators screamed out in horror.

"T-these are C-rank and higher! A-and most of us are C and D…How are we gonna take these down…And seeing this, the boss is gonna be an even higher rank!" The leader cried.

They were all fussing when suddenly, to everyone's horror…the cahmer's gate shut down with a thud.

Everyone looked back and froze, terrified.

Si-Hun narrowed his eyes, gripping his sword tight, jaw clenched.

"This is bad…We may not survive this…" Si-Hun whispered under his breath.

Kuro stood there, watching Si-Hun as his eyes turned that void-like again.

His eyes switched back to normal as he turned back.

"Why did the gate shut down?" Si-Hun said to Kuro.

"I think there's something unusual with this dungeon…" He replied.

"Like what?"

"…I can't explain that."

"Let's all stick together as one and fight; otherwise, we'll all die here!" The leader said as he gathered everyone.

"I don't think we'll survive this," Si-Hun said to the leader.

The leader seemed helpless as he looked over to Si-Hun.

"Let's all stick together, child. Unity is better than trying to fight these beasts off by ourselves!" The leader spoke.

Si-Hun nodded, face lacking any emotion.

"Let's hope this goes well." He muttered.

Everyone gathered as one and stood against a beast.

Their swords were high, faces panicked, but flickering hope.

The monster growled before tilting its head and looking over to its fellows.

"W-what?" Someone whispered.

"He looks like he's…calling the other monsters!"

Si-Hun's eyes widened just a fraction before turning calm again.

"We don't have any chances against these beasts." One man said as he fell on his knees.

"I-I can't die here! I have people waiting for me at home!" Others shouted.

Shin Rahee looked over to Si-Hun's.

"You…can handle it, right?" She asked, voice low.

Si-Hun took a hesitant breath before looking up.

"I'm not sure,'' he replied.

"You're capable enough to try."

Si-Hun slowly glanced at her.

His eyes were narrow and sharp.

She was panicking even when she was trying to hold her composure in front of him.

"Right."

"They won't step back if I ask them to," Si-Hun said.

"Then let them be…even if we could save one or…two, we will still save," she whispered.

The monster charged at them in a nutshell.

Two predators handled one monster at a time, but that was too hard as well.

Si-Hun was handling one monster alone.

It's a pity that no one even asked to help.

"H-hey…I can help you!" Rahee shouted.

"No, go and help any other predators who need it!"

"But-

"I can do this."

She nodded in a hurdle and was about to leave when a Si-Hun saw a monster attacking.

Fast and precise, Si-Hun rushed and clicked his sword against the monster, shielding Rahee.

She gasped at the suddenness.

"Huh!?"

Si-Hun struck his sword hard at the monster, backing it away quickly.

"I can't use my powers, but I can't leave everyone here to die! That's not what my morals would allow me to do…"

Just then

"AHH!" A scream.

Si-Hun looked back; a predator was lying on the ground, a rod across his chest.

Another one was killed by one of these monsters.

"W-what is happening!?"

"Everyone stay intact! Gather here!" Si-Hun shouted.

"ARE YOU CRAZY!? WE WOULDN'T WANT TO BE KILLED LISTENING TO A NOVIS'S ADVICE!"

"He can save you! Please…just believe him!" Rahee assured everyone.

But obviously, no one was really willing to put their lives at risk listening to a Noivs, a weak, pathetic man.

"Fine! But tie this message to your hearts, you won't see your families again!" Rahee shouted.

Si-Hun looked over to her, and she nodded.

Si-Hun's breathing shook and struck the monster in front of him hard, so hard that the monster hit the wall with a thud.

"FINE! Y'ALL WOULDN'T BELIEVE ME? THEN STAY HERE. SUIT YOURSELVES." Si-Hun shouted as he swung his sword across another monster's chest, piercing through his internal organs.

"How'd he do that…?" The leader muttered as he saw Si—Hun like that for the first time.

There were only four predators left, including Rahee and their leader.

"S-Si-Hun! Listen!" The leader looked over to Si-Hun, who wouldn't look back at him.

"At the time, you realized you couldn't suit yourselves off without me? You remembered me, only then?" Si-Hun whispered, loud enough for them to hear.

"W-we're sorry! Please…We all will die here if you don't help us! A-and…and we wouldn't say a word to anyone!" The leader pleaded.

"No matter how powerful I become, taking away my hand when someone is about to hold it, I don't care what the past is…it passed. I can't…leave them to die, I can't." Si-Hun thought, head low.

He turned back.

"Am I a toy?" Si-Hun muttered.

"Si-Hun – Watch out!" Rahee screamed as she saw a beast attacking Si-Hun from behind, but wait…

"Kill it," Si-Hun whispered to Kuro, who spun into action and stopped the monster before it could touch Si-Hun.

The monster died in one attack from Kuro.

Everyone gasped seeing an invisible power stopping such a beast, taken down in just one attack.

Kuro walked slowly over to Si-Hun and stood on his right hand.

"You knew, master?"

"You wouldn't let me die like this, would you?"

"No, master," Kuro said, head low.

"W-whose he talking to?"

"I want all of you to stay away from here as much as you can."
