I kissed him.
The thought kept repeating as I closed the connecting door carefully behind me, my hand still trembling on the handle, I leaned back against it, breathing hard like I'd been running.
I kissed him.
It had taken everything I had to pull away, everything not to keep kissing him. Not to touch more than just his face, not to climb into that bed beside him and hold him the way I'd been wanting to for weeks.
The restraint had nearly killed me.
And if he'd woken up. If those eyes had opened and looked at me while I was bent over him like that, stealing something I had no right to take...
I didn't know what I would have done, what I would have said. How I could have possibly explained myself.
I moved away from the door and sank onto my bed, pressing my palms against my eyes, my heart was still pounding, my whole body felt tense, wound tight with want that had nowhere to go.
