Chapter 127Sonia's POV
"Don't you dare do what you are about to do."
The voice snapped through the chamber like a blade. Sharp, cold and deadly.
Jane's hand froze in mid-air. My cheek still burned from her previous slap, but I didn't care. My chest heaved as I turned toward the doorway.
Xavier stood there.
Not dressed like a soldier. Not dressed like a beta. Just a black tank top clinging to his chest, sweat soaking through the fabric, his muscles cut deep under his skin. His joggers hung low on his hips, his dark hair messy, damp. A bead of sweat slid down his throat, tracing a path that made my stomach twist.
My eyes lingered too long. Way longer than I hoped it would. I sucked in a sharp breath and dragged my gaze away.
"Get a grip, Sonia. What the fuck is wrong with you?"
The room grew heavy. Even Jane, who had been vibrating with rage, faltered. Her gaze flicked down his body, and for a second, she looked less like a Luna and more like a starving horny wolf.
