Although Shizuka Hiratsuka didn't want to admit it, the evidence was right in front of her.
This really was the One Piece world.
After accepting that fact, she walked to the counter and sat down. She ordered a glass of wine from Makino and casually asked, "Has Luffy set sail yet?"
Makino smiled. "That Luffy kid keeps talking about becoming the Pirate King, but it doesn't look like he's ready yet."
"Excuse me," Emiya said. "May I ask what year it is on the Sea Calendar?"
Makino looked a little surprised by the question, but she didn't comment and answered honestly.
"It's July twelfth, Sea Calendar year 1519."
"Oh." Emiya nodded.
He finally understood the timeline.
As someone who had watched the story, he knew that Luffy set sail on May 5th, Sea Calendar 1520. That day was Luffy's seventeenth birthday.
It was currently 1519.
That meant the story hadn't started yet.
To be precise, there were still ten months to go.
"Thank you."
"You're welcome," Makino replied with a smile.
"Since you're Luffy's friends, you're my friends too. If you want to see him, you'll probably have to wait a bit."
Shizuka Hiratsuka scratched her head. "Actually, we're not Luffy's friends."
Emiya nodded. "We just heard about him from someone else and got curious."
"You heard about Luffy..." Makino covered her mouth, surprised. "Are you Marines?"
"No," Emiya shook his head. That wasn't anything worth hiding. Everyone in Windmill Village knew Luffy's grandfather was a Marine.
Makino thought for a moment, then asked, "Then... Shanks?"
She had witnessed the encounter between Luffy and Shanks ten years ago. In a sense, she was a witness to history.
If Luffy really became the Pirate King, she might even be mentioned in the records.
"No," Emiya said again.
Makino: "..."
"Alright," Emiya said with a smile. "Thank you for the drink, Miss Makino. It was very good."
He left a gold ring on the counter and walked out of the bar with Shizuka Hiratsuka.
Outside, Shizuka Hiratsuka took a deep breath.
"Do you believe me now?" Emiya asked, smiling.
She nodded. "I do. I never imagined I'd come to this world one day. Fate really is strange."
"It is," Emiya agreed.
If not for fate, he would never have found that webpage, nor obtained the ability to travel between worlds.
"So," Emiya asked, "where do we go now? Do you want to meet Luffy?"
Shizuka Hiratsuka shook her head. "Why would I want to see a single-minded idiot like him? There's only one thing I want to do right now."
She clenched her fist and cracked her knuckles.
"And that is?"
"Beat up Arlong!!" She threw a punch into the air.
Emiya sighed. "I can tell you've trained in martial arts, but you're not beating Arlong. Don't forget-Fish-Men are born physically stronger than humans. Even ordinary Fish-Men are several times stronger, let alone Arlong."
If she fought him head-on, she'd probably be killed with one punch.
Shizuka Hiratsuka calmly patted his shoulder. "I might not be able to beat him. But you can. Don't tell me you can't even handle Arlong."
"How is that possible?" Emiya said immediately, feeling underestimated.
"I might not be able to beat the Admirals or the Four Emperors, but Arlong isn't a problem. If he really annoys me, I can just call for backup and crush the World Government. Believe it or not."
Her eyes lit up. "Crush the World Government? Sounds like you know some powerful people."
"To be precise," Emiya said calmly, "they're gods. I can travel between worlds. Knowing a few gods isn't strange, is it?"
That completely removed her last bit of fear.
"In that case," Shizuka Hiratsuka said decisively, "what are we waiting for? Let's go straight to Arlong Park and beat that hateful Fish-Man!"
"I have one question."
"What?"
"Do you know where Arlong Park is?"
"...."
She knew Windmill Village. She knew Arlong Park. She knew Cocoyasi Village. She even knew East Blue.
She just didn't know where any of them actually were.
"Then we'll ask around first," she said.
They went to the port of Windmill Village and asked the locals about Cocoyasi Village.
The moment the residents heard the name, they waved their hands urgently.
"Don't go! Don't go! There are pirates there! Something terrible will happen!"
Emiya smiled. "Don't worry. We're famous bounty hunters from East Blue. We specialize in capturing pirates. We heard there are pirates near Cocoyasi Village, so we came to deal with them."
The residents looked doubtful.
Emiya raised a hand.
A small single-masted sailboat near the port rose into the air under his psychic power. It flew in a slow circle, then gently settled back onto the water.
The boat wasn't very large, so lifting it was easy.
Even a slightly larger two-masted ship wouldn't have been a problem.
After becoming an adventurer, Emiya had leveled up over twenty times. His spiritual power had grown significantly.
His psychic strength had improved along with it.
He could now lift up to one hundred and fifty tons.
Emiya lowered his hand and looked at the stunned residents, their mouths hanging open.
"Do you believe me now?"
"I believe you! I believe you!" they said repeatedly.
They immediately told Emiya and Shizuka Hiratsuka the route to Cocoyasi Village.
Emiya memorized it.
Then, with his psychic power, he lifted both himself and Shizuka Hiratsuka into the air.
They vanished from sight in a blur.
Their destination was clear.
Cocoyasi Village.
Emiya carried Shizuka Hiratsuka across the sea at high speed.
Although he knew the route, the ocean was vast, and landmarks were scarce. Before long, he drifted off course.
Fortunately, they ran into several cargo ships along the way.
After asking for directions, he corrected their path and finally spotted Cocoyasi Village around noon.
A few minutes later, they landed successfully.
"Eat first," Emiya asked, "or beat up Arlong first and then eat?"
"Obviously we beat him first," Shizuka Hiratsuka said eagerly.
"Alright." Emiya didn't argue.
He created several rings and handed them to her. "These are for you."
Her face instantly turned red. She took a step back.
"W-why are you giving me these?"
Emiya took one look and realized the misunderstanding. "Don't think too much. They're magic items."
He pointed to them one by one.
"This is an Iron Wall Ring. It greatly increases physical defense.
This is a Healing Ring. It heals you when you're injured.
This is an Abnormality Status Resistance Ring. Things like bleeding, injuries, or poison won't interfere with your actions.
This is a Physical Resistance Ring. It weakens physical attacks by about half. Combined with Iron Wall, it makes you much harder to injure.
And this is a Drain Touch Ring. It absorbs the enemy's life and magic. You can use it to heal yourself in battle."
These were all skills Emiya already had.
Using Fantasy Creation, he could turn them into magic items.
With these rings, even an ordinary person could become extremely durable.
And they weren't just copies.
They were enhanced versions.
With all of them equipped, even bullets might fail to kill her.
Unless a sniper hit a vital point like the eye, killing her in one shot would be difficult.
Shizuka Hiratsuka finally understood.
Her face-and even her neck-turned red.
Still, she didn't refuse.
Their enemies were Fish-Men, whose bodies far surpassed humans. With these rings, Emiya wouldn't need to worry about protecting her during the fight.
So she accepted them.
One by one, she put the rings on.
The passive effects activated immediately.
Iron Wall.
Abnormality Resistance.
Physical Resistance.
She felt stronger almost instantly.
That feeling gave her confidence.
Even if she couldn't defeat the Fish-Men, she wouldn't be a burden.
"Let's go," Shizuka Hiratsuka said proudly.
"We're heading to Arlong Park to defeat Arlong and liberate Cocoyasi Village!"
She rushed ahead without hesitation.
Emiya followed close behind.
Their goal was set.
